Hello, does anyone have specific instructions on how to get the ring puzzle solved in the 4th nightmare. I have tried and tried and just cant do it. If someone has a save, that would help...lol. Thank you, Eileen

I, too am playing The Darkness Within, and am stuck at a place, just after Howard has met Loath Nolder in the cave, and come back to his apartment for a rest. According to the WT, he is supposed to awaken in a cave; I am on a totally white screen, and can occassionally find a 'forward' cursor if I move the mouse around and'catch' it. Have also been able to catch a 'pick up hand' and have a relic of some sort. Is there supposed to be something other than an all white screen?

You should not have an all white screen. There is an actual cave you wake up in. I believe there is a patch for this game but I havent any idea where to get it. I guess we will have to wait for someone to show up and try to help us. Eileen

Eileen, I can send you a save but it's better you compress and e-mail me your folder with the saves. I'll then solve the rings puzzle and send it back to you. This way you don't have to repeat things that you may have done so far in your game.

Brockway please go back to a saved game and see if you can get past this area without having to use a patch.

I did get back a message from your provider telling me you don't accept e-mail from my address. You know why this happens?

Brockway Mom -- I encountered the same white screen at that point, and just hitting the Esc key solves the problem.

Don't download the patch! So far it seems to cause more problems than it helps!

I agree with Becky, if you don't have to use that patch avoid it like the plague!
