Has any one tried it?
It´s possible that it´s only in german right now (the version I have is), but still a great game.

I am really looking forward to this one! I don't think an English language version has been released yet.

ETA: Myst32, can you give us a little info on what types of puzzles are in it? Inventory? Investigative? I've been intrigued by the storyline every since I heard about it!

No English language versions released yet that I know of. Thinking April 2008 here.

well the game is simple, inventory at the bottom of the screen, space tells you what you can click on the screen, this has really helped me because the game´s german. And I´m a dane and have had german in school since forever but I still can´t understand any of it. Any ways the game up until now is really good, as you properly allready know you have to ´´probe´´ some mentaly ill people, but I won´t give it all up front and I haven´t gotten that far yet.
(I´m actually stuck)

so the basics point, click, talk and repeat.

Thanks for the rundown Myst32! The way the game is set up (from reading about it) reminds me of how the film Memento was -- played backwards. Love the concept and can't wait until it's released here in North America. smile

I read the JA preview, it seems the writer was less than thrilled with the game.

Hi smile

Well a game usually has to be have been absolutely slated before I will refuse to buy it simply because of one or even two poor reviews ....

What if I might have liked it and I go an' miss out ??

Can't take the risk lol

Cheers.

I didn't get the impression that the JA+ preview
http://justadventure.com/Previews/Overclocked/Overclocked.shtm
was negative. Despite the humorous first sentence and the complaints about the lack of people in the city and not getting wet in the rain, the reviewer did praise the strong plot and characters and the detailed environments. That sounds to me like more good than bad.

I've played the German demo and loved it, looking forward to the English release.

House of Tales have, by the way, just announced they are working on a new game. They have yet to release any details, all they want to say is they are "looking for better weather..."

I'll be back, one day, when I feel like it.

I've played Overclocked a while ago. My opinion is that it's not a GREAT game but it's worth playing. Let's just say it will not be in the top of my "game of the year" list.

Looking for better weather. Hmmm. Someplace it doesn't rain much? A game set in sunny Califonia, maybe?

I just read the same preview, and Randy's description of his frustration with the lack of common sense in the game meshes completely with my own feelings about the House of Tales games I've played before... the silly lack of realism that mars both the Mystery of the Druids and Moment of Silence. (my reviews are on this site already).

On this do classics win, and also-rans lose. (this was the same issue as I had with Operation Wintersun, btw)

I don't understand that criticism for TMOS about a lack of people populating the areas. Seems to me there were plenty in the airport, in the public areas, etc. Guess it's one of those subjective things duh

The only times I've ever been in airports so empty were at stupid-o'clock in the morning (in winter!), or in a tiny provincial airport like the one on the Isle of Man (which is more of an airstrip with a nice terminal building than a full-sized airport!)

Here's a question though, if the areas were well populated in games, how many of us would be clicking on everyone to see if we could talk to them? I would! smile

It actually annoys me if there are "background people" that you can't interact with.
