I am truly stuck in this game at the bigging of Act 6. I have gone back to square 1 twice and faithfully followed MaGtRo's walkthrough to the letter but I cannot get Act 6 started (where you are automatically back in Poirot's office.)

I did double check the note book and nothing is showing Red but when I assembled the torn letter it would not appear in the note book so I could not read it. Where did I go wrong

If the letter is not in the notebook, it means it is not put together correctly.
Check the design on the edges, the text and the pattern of the rips of the paper.
Try again since this puzzle is picky.

I have matched the letter puzzle with Mag's walkthrough an as far as I can make out it is exactly as she has outlined. Is there something else I could have missed before coming to this part of the game.? As I mentioned I followed the WT page by page and I can't seem to get past this section.

Geri, even though the letter reads correctly, there may be an error in the border parts--I had that problem. Check the edges that don't have an writing on them, to be sure they are in the correct place...

I Checked each square by square but it still won't work.
I found a patch on one of the web sites and downloaded it and I will once again start from the beginning. ( I am learning this game by heart) and I will let you know if this works. If not I give up.'

i am trying to get the oar out of the ground and it wont let me. what did i do wrong?

When I pick up the oar, it was in the shed at the Bathing beach along a boat varnish and a swimming float.

I am sorry, but I could find any thing in my E-Mail.
I restarted the game and every thing went as smooth as punch until I came to the end of Act 6 (you are supposed to be back at Poirot's Office but nothing happened. Once again I went back to my saved game and repeated sthe moves wosrd for word including all of the documents to be read. Am I missing something? I think this game hates me.

Geri is the letter in your inventory now or is it in the waste basket?
Have you tested all substances? Are all entries about the guests in black or red? Have you talked to everyone about everything? Did you open the zodiac box in Linda's room?

Geri I've sent you a saved game that I'm pretty sure is at the start of chapter 7

I have done all of the above. The only thing I can't seem to do is use the cards from Miss Porter's School to open the box in Linda's sroom. Every time I try to pull them from inventory and use them Poirot says (no). Do I have to use them to continue? As I said I can get thru the rest of tsshe game up to the end of Act 6 when I should be automatically back in P. office.

Geri is the letter from the waste basket in your inventory now? Did you click on the cards while they were in your inventory? You need to see the birth date on each of the girls to solve the box puzzle in Linda's room.

Thank you for all of your help buet this game is hopeless. It keeps freezing and white outing and does'nt seem to follow the W


The letter is assembled and in the note book and I started from an earlier "save" and everything is as the WT shows. but cannot get automatically back at P. Office. If you can help me at this point I would be eternally grateful. But I think it is hopeless. I have played otsher A.Christies game and never had a bit of trouble.

Not sure what you mean by automatically back at the post office.You have to catch that ferrie bus and go across the water to the post office.As Texaslady says .Have you read the cards .

Geri you may want to check with Glitches. I think that other members had a problem with white outs and that there is a patch. You would only end up back at Poirot's office automatically when you have completed all the necessary steps for this act/chapter.
