I am going to be in Malaga, Spain for a few weeks and wondered where adventure games might hang out. I might be able to find some releases that are not yet in Canada and the US, but have never seen a store carrying them.

What type of stores in Spain carry these games?

There's a store there called Jump. EB bought them in 2004 - so that's one possibility.

This Map of Spain has game stores.

Keep in mind that a lot of the games will be the Spanish versions! If you speak Spanish that shouldn't be a problem though.

Yes I will be very careful when buying. My Spanish is not very good except for reading menus.

When I lived in Spain in 2002 and 2005, my local malls had computer game stores, and the larger El Corte Ingles department store chains usually have well-stocked electronics sections with PC and console games (in Spanish).
