Are you clicking the amulet on them as they zoom in on you?
They will come one after another until you finish all of them. Then Nigel will move forward.

Please use one thread per game. I merged your 2 threads together.
You can find your postings at My Place on top of the page.

Look at the clue for this in the book or in the walkthrough.
Remember which plant goes where. You see where they are placed in the walkthrough.
Then open the inventory to where the plants are located.
They do not need to be placed in any particular order - just the correct position.
So go close to door, open inventory, get last plant shown in inventory, place in position.
Then open inventory, take last plant shown in inventory and place in position...
Do not think about the black mist - just do it. You can do it.

It took me a few tries but I just memorised 2 of the plants' placements, put them on right away and quickly placed the other 3. If it's the wrong place, Nigel will say so, so try and place on another hotspot as fast as you can.
