Hi, I've successfully loaded the game, but after Holmes reads the letter from Arsene, he suggests that Watson visit the bookstore..Well, I can't leave the room. There is a hand icon hovering over the tea cup, but no active icon to get me out. I checked the map, but the bookstore isn't on it. What is the problem? Any suggestions?

do you mean when you walk to the door- there is no hand to leave?

I think this is not a tech glitch but a gameplay problem.
I'll move to Hints.

---------
Take the letter from the tray first. Then move to the door and you will get a hand icon on the door knob.

Thanks, Winfrey.

Hi, Mag.
I finally realized that it was the action cursor that was bothering me. I hadn't gotten close enough to the door for the hand cursor to appear. Problem solved!
Thanks, Gillann

Hi Leeana,

You need to search on the bookcase that is furthest right at the back of the store. Move your cursor slowly over the lower shelves, you'll find it. luck

Hi,
I'm stuck with the Man with 2 Monkeys puzzle. I'm just not getting what I'm supposed to do. I've read MaG's WT, and have tried to draw the line-the hand cursor is there, but nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Gillann

Hi MaG, thanks for helping. I've tried clicking on the point where the arrow is, but just keep getting kicked out. If I hear "A man with two monkeys" again, I may scream. Have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Nothing is happening. Very frustrating.

Well, I did it. Don't quite know how, but onward and upward.
Thanks, MaG!

Thanks, MaG, but I'm already back. I'm in the reading room searching for the 3 books. Up till now, I've had no problem finding the books, but can't seem to find these. Which level are they on?
Thanks, Gail

Go to: Area C, 4th row and 5th column.
Then on close up pick up 3 books that have forest, rocks and sea on the title.

Which level, or floor? I've found books on the second and third levels-I searched the 2nd and 3rd levels this time, too, but couldn't find anything.
Thanks!
Gillann

It is at first level - go to letter C.
Then from there count the 4th row and 5th column of letter C. luck

Thank you, MaG, as always. I went right to the books. What would we, who are slightly challenged, do without you, and all the other wonderful helpers. I miss Sue.
Thanks, again-

Hello, I'm stuck on the medal puzzle in the Exhibit hall. I successfully completed the 1st Paragraph-exchanging Edward with Chas. II, but do not get Paragraph 2. I tried to exchange Henry VI withChas. II, but nothing happens. RE: The WT says John I + James I + a Christian Name-Henry = 6. (?) Then, replace Henry VI with Chas II...what am I missing? Do I have to move around James, John and Henry first?
Thanks, Gillann

Hi MaG,
I'm very confused. I'm using your WT, and copied it down, but have no idea what is meant by John I and James I + a Christian name =6? You also mentioned that Henry was the proper name for the "diagonal". You've lost me. What diagnol? The first paragraph went fine, and Holmes remarks, "Excellent". I've exchanged Henry VI with Chas. II, but Holmes is deadly silent. What am I missing?
Thanks so much, Gillann

Gillann,

After reading the clue given in the document:

Exchange the 2 marked X in this picture from the wt:

MaG, I've done that exchange about 10 times, and nothing happens. Holmes doesn't say a thing. Don't I just click on Henry VI and move him to Chas. II-exchanging their positions? There must be something I've overlooked, because it is so simple, but is not working.

gillann, maybe you've shuffled a couple of other coins around in the meantime, so that is why it isn't working when you switch the coins that MaG has highlighted. Check to make sure that all your coins are as per the diagram.
