or are they b-o-r-e-d games? Do you like to play them? If so, Do you play online or try to get them on CDRom? Against others or by yourself? Is there a favorite board game that hasn't been made into a computerized version that you would like to see done?

I have always liked board games. I live alone and not a lot of friends or family around to hang out with to play real board games with so I love that I can play them on the PC. Most of the ones I like are quite old though - like Monopoly. I prefer a CD rom and playing with AI players rather than online against others.

There is a game called Trouble - remember the popomatic! laugh
I loved that game. It would be fun to see a PC version of that one. Although it was kinda for kids and gameplay was simple. Not sure what a game creator could do with it to make it engaging and interesting for teens and adults. think

eta I see there are versions of Trouble for gameboy and nintendo (which of course I do not have either.) To my knowledge there is not one for the PC. Figures. duh

I have not played any board game yet. I should try them sometime. Thanks for opening up another venue for me.

No, I don't think they are boring. They can be fun. I can think of three interesting ones.

The Monopoly Here and Now edition should be fun. This is available on a jewel case for $9.99. There is another jewel case monopoly but I think the Here and Now edition should be better.

There is also Scrabble which is also $9.99 jewel case. There is another edition called Scrabble Journey which lets you play as you travel through some cities.

Not to forget the game Clue which one of the versions is known as CLUE Classic.

Now, some board games can be boring - well maybe it's fun to play a few games but beyond that it can get boring. Examples are checkers, reversi etc. These games are normally available as a free download from major free games sites.

There is this game, Mancala Snails that can be fun. This game is based on the ancient game of counting and strategy known as Mancala .

There are also another category worth mentioning - Gameshows. Games like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy should be fun and they are available as a $9.99 jewel case game.

I play Hoyle Board Games on CD ROM all the time with AI players. Eighteen games on one disc, and the quality of Hoyle games is always superb. My absolute favourite is DoubleCross; I also love Rummy Squares and Yacht (Yahtzee).
