that's ok trail. The tittle doesn't matter. smile

Last time I picked up the contracts, the page was all full lol so I wanted to wait but I got them now and the strange thing is 2 of them were already completed when I read them since I had enough 'juice'

Thanx for the info on vendor, Hagatha.

Does Geralt remind anyone of Josh Hallaway?
Although I had watched 'lost' before I played 'the witcher' But when I saw the trailer of lost today after many days, Josh reminded me of Geralt or maybe I'm just crazy.

I never watched The Lost, but I imagine his likeness comes from somewhere. I also recommend buying, stealing, or getting all books, scrolls any information you need. Once it is read and put into your inventory you no longer need them and can sell them to a dealer.
Drac, I got Geralt so drunk a few times felt like I was, he was so dizzy. Makes you feel like you are there.

Good Luck Hugh grin

I was doing the quest from carmen (I guess beauty and the beast) I talked to this guy who looks like reverend. Both about carmen's problem and some other quest. There was this guy there whose name starts with y or v. He gave me the quest "echoes of yesterday" I read that if you've compelted 'posh reception', then you won't be able to complete "echoes of yesterday" and "gold rush" by sigfield. Is this true? How would it end then? I guess I had completed 'posh reception' frown

I'm trying to work out where you are in the game.

It sounds as though you're talking about Yaevin, the elf leader. The first time you meet him he's in the Druid area in the Swamp. But that's in Chapter two, and Carmen's quest is in Chapter three. Did you take part in the battle in the Swamp between the elves and the humans?

You can't complete every quest in the game. Some of them are tied to the non-humans and some are tied to the Order. Depending on how you complete certain quests, other quests are closed off. So if you've ticked Siegfried off at some point (by siding with the non-humans) he won't give you any further quests.

Note, however, that making Siegfried mad will not make it impossible to join the Order at a later time. You'll still get that choice.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I sided with Sigfield. I didn't want to decieve him frown I just couldn't understand when the walkthrough mentioned that you may not be able to complete these two quests if you've done 'posh reception' Since I was able to start that quest. I wonder how is it not goin to be completed. Like would it remain uncompleted or would there be a red cross in the journal. But let's see what happens smile

EDIT:
Click to reveal..
Guess what. I WAS able to complete 'echoes of yesterday'. I guess maybe the WT meant 'gold rush' and not 'posh reception' completion.

EDIT:
Click to reveal..
After completing 'echoes of yesterday' a little boy comes to you and triggers the quest 'gold rush' So I feel now 'six feet under' may not be possible. I'll just load an older save where I didn't complete 'echoes of yesterday' and check if I'm still able to start 'six feet under'

I just can't remember the names of the quests anymore. But I guess the walkthrough you mention was referring to certain places in the game where you have to choose how to play. For instance there is a battle that spins off of the reception, where you side with one or another person. Siding with one, you won't have the ability to do a quest involving the other party. You'll still be able to do the main story quest involving the reception though. Does that make sense?

Hi nickie. The walkthrough at gamebanshee mentions:

"Note: If you’ve already finished A Posh Reception, then you won’t be able to complete this quest and Yaevinn’s quest Echoes of Yesterday. You’ll have to choose one or the other"

and this:
"provided that you haven’t yet triggered the quest Gold Rush."

You're right nickie. I think from "you'll have to choose one or the other" it means you can either to Yaevinn's quest or Sigfried's quest. Did you do Sigfried's quest where there's a talkin goul, nickie?

I was talking about another choice, when there's the mob scene outside the reception, but yes, same principle. A couple of quests by their very nature have to cancel out another quest. I didn't do that quest - or any with Sigfried beyond killing the cockatrice. I really do have to play again and force myself to side with his lot to see the different gameplay. Just by nature gravitated to the rebels.
Is it a different ghoul than you encounter in chapter four?

I haven't met this ghoul yet but read that he can talk. I guess I may not be able to do this quest since I already started Yvearn's quest so I wanted to know how it was. Did you give silver ruby ring to triss or she can accept anyone?

EDIT
Click to reveal..
I loaded my old save where I had started Yvearn's quest 'echoes of yesterday' but hadn't completed. I wanted to check if I can do both of these. I went to sigfried in the morning and he gave me the quest 'six feet under'. After completing this, the quest 'echoes of yesterday' got canceled with journal adding "yvearn's gone to rob a bank, I doubt he'd need the artifact now" I could still go to sewers and try to continue but I doubt that would work.

Hi-

The talking goul is in the graveyard, you may not meet up with him until Triss gives you those three things to place around, the sensors. He sure is Ugly.

I met him in another quest.

EDIT:
Any ideas where I cam find greviers and kikimores for contracts and Alps and fledger for the dentist?

Does anyone remember who needed red gloves and who needed cow's milk. When they needed, I didn't have them and when I have them I can't find those people. I guess the waitress in the 'new narakort inn' (the inn at trade quarter) needed the gloves but she doesn't have that option in her dilogue tree anymore.

Does anyone know where I can find more Graveirs or even Graveir bones? I need only one to end the contract before I begin the last quest (unforgiven) of chapter 3. I've looked in cemetery and forest but can't find more.

Hi L4L! Witcher stuff I can sometimes answer - it's the eleven dozen other things that crop up that make googling a way of life. laugh Hmm, think maybe I need to replay this soon to make sure I'm not forgetting anything. Oh Geralt... lol

I didn't find them there the first time I went down there, but they feed on corpses I think - they were there the second time, after I had killed off all the Salamaandra. Can't remember if there was more than one crypt, but I found them in the tunnels too.
Anyway, you don't need to wait on going on to the next quest, you'll probably run into one at some point while you're doing the next one or so.

yea I was thinkin the same. You're right. They may be there NOW. Actually, I've done all the quests and only this one is remaining before I go for 'unforgiven' which ends the chapter. There's also this dentists but I read he'd meet you in the next chapter too? But I'm sure I can continue this quest (graveir contract) even in next chapter.
thanx

The dentist was never there for me, so I gave up on doing that one.
I may be wrong about this Hugh, but I think you need to finish that contract in this chapter - the main story line kicks in and things change, as you're out of town and then the town changes. I sure could be mistaken about it, but I can't remember doing any of the old contracts after the third chapter - I'm sure someone who has played this more recently can correct me if I'm wrong though.

oh. Good thing I already left a save before starting 'unforgiven'. I also had this strange bug in the game. After killing the queen, Gerlat can walk easily b/w the rocks but he won't go near the exit.

I wouldn't worry about the contract, unless you just feel you need to complete everything. But that kikimore queen quest is a bit glitchy, and a well known problem of crashing. I think that's the only place I ran into a glitch - I just figured a boulder really got him and I didn't see it. lol Be sure and loot her body before you exit.

Nickie-

You are right, generally if you go to next chapter you cannot finish quest in previous ones. I found the best way to kill the Kikimore Queen is to load up on the best potions and then to wack at her good.

Good Luck Hugh.

HI Nickie- grin

It is going so slow as I have been stuck on the Dream Chronicles, now that I am done with them, although want to redo them I will get started on it. I see I can preorder The Witcher on GoGamer, price is higher than I expected.

Take care

I have a general question for anyone who has the uncensored version of this game. When you talk to Thalor in Act II, does he use rather colorful language?

I have the uncensored version and just wondered if that was censored out.
