Need some help. hardwall
I cannot get to the land of the giants, have browsed the net and it seems I am not the only one. Would like to know what is causing the crash, video card related maybe?
Would it help to buy a US edition as there is a patch for that version. Have landed myself with 2 copies of the UK edition in the hopes of solving the problem.
headscratch
thanks

While waiting for the techs to help you, have you lowered your video-audio accelelration? That might help.

Good luck - I never could get past that place!
Had to use savegames for the whole game - think I used 12 savegames in total, because of crashes and bugs... HRMPH!

Thanks misslilo, need that.
Used a saved to get past the land of the giants, and the rest of the game was fine, no crashes at all, but would like to play the part I missed. Will let you know if I find a solution.

I am playing the game and have entered the village in Land of the Giants. I haven't had any problems with the game. I would offer my saves to anyone, but I can't find them. I have a folder labeled "save" but it has only a jpeg file for each save, no actual save. I have searched my hard drive and haven't found anything.

Pokey,
Those are the saved games in the Save folder.
The saved game files are in picture form. The data is embedded in the picture.

Thanks, MaG. That's a new one for me. Glad I finally have an explanation, as it really had me confused.

anne, I have an Nvidia 8800GT. I have the North American version of the game. Do those who have problems have a European version?

Pokey, thanks for letting me know. I also have a Nvidia so that narrows down the problem a little. I think it may be just be the UK release of the game that has the problem.

You are welcome to my saves if you want to try them. I'm not sure they are compatible.

I've got this problem too, I've tried it on 4 different computers, two running XP and two running Vista.

For the moment I've given up!

Yes Anne I think so, I purchased it on Ebay, LOL.

It's a triple game pack, I can't find any mention of country on it.

It's also got Black Mirror and The Watchmaker.

Thanks GingerMac, same as mine. Am quite sure everyone who has this copy of the game is having the same problem.

It must be a flaw in the JTCE in that Adventure Triple Pack! That is the version I had too, and if you look back, I posted about the same issue. Thought it was my PC but now I think it rests with that specific version of the game!!!!

I couldn't even get saves to work! I ended up purchasing the download version (yes, I was that obsessive about completing it!) and was able to proceed into the Land of The Giants and the download game functioned swimmingly.

I don't know where you found a patch, since as far as I can tell there is no patch. The closest I can find to a patch is some saved games on Frogwares' site. If you're talking about a nocd crack, those aren't going to solve a problem unless it's caused by the copy "protection."
If you've got the version of the game that came in the Adventure Triple Pack, that seems to be a defective version. If you've got a different version of the game, try turning down your audio and/or video acceleration. If you need more help, post your computer's specs -- Windows version, system RAM, processor speed, and most important video card model and date of drivers.

I didn't know Journey to the Center of the Earth had a nude patch.
Are you saying you installed it and didn't see a difference?
