Maggie, Time Stand Still is a regular adventure game. Anything that you find under the category of "Large File Adventure" in BigFish is not a casual game.

How do you fix the radiator and the peg puzzle?

You need the radiator key from a puzzle in the lounge and a mug from the kitchen.
Then place the mug on the left side of the radiator.
Use the key on that left side of the radiator to let the steam out.

where do I find the certificate in Solvieg's house? I am so directionally challenged enen looking at the walkthrough does not help me Is the front door the wooden one or the door with the radiator? OK so Im a blonde. Please help Thanx guys

As for the front door - it is not the one with the radiator, that is the back door. You can exit and see.
As for the certificate, it is at the sitting room wall.
Go to the front door and and go right.
