Still battling away. It seems the world has something against me finishing the Centre of Corruption dungeon section. I get some distance into the 1st or second level (I always methodically clear them on the way down; no speed runs for me!), and I get interrupted. Either by real life (last night), a crash (rare) or a focus-grabbing alert by a back ground application.

Aarrghh!

Maybe I should resort to a speed run to the bottom of the dungeon.

Well, I finally managed to get a few hours straight playing time, and finished *both* the final two dungeons in one go, although both were 'speed runs' not level clearances.
Click to reveal..
The final fight came down to a competition between the bad guy and my supply of health potions.

Worth the effort in the end, however. And I'll probably have another go with different skills. I fancy a serious magic user next time smile

Be interested to hear what you think as I usually like to play as a magic user.

Playing on hard level now... will start a new character shortly.

Has anyone figured out how to quickly change the mouse button assignments? It's really annoying when you've got two weapons (one ranged, one melee), you can only really have one active skill per weapon. It would be so nice to be able to have (for example) exploding bolt and scattershot available when in ranged mode, then jump attack and spin attack in melee mode.

It already takes an appreciable amount of time to stop and change weapons as it is, so fiddling with the skills mini-menu isn't really on the agenda in the heat of combat!

I'm playing as a magic user now, and it seems considerably easier than as a warrior. I've already killed the Lich King and I'm on my way to meet the dwarves.

The biggest difference is that as a magic user, I rarely have to get close to the bad guys, because I've put plenty of points into my fireball and mana recovery skills (and not a lot else). As a warrior, I found that ranged weapons only did about half of the job of killing bad guys at best, so also needed decent armour - and that's hard to come by.

However, I'm still enjoying the game. laugh

That's why I love to play as a magic user in every RPG--I don't have to get up close and personal

Thanks for the info, Gremlin - love that fireball myself. Would you recommend this game?

Yes I would, for anyone who likes the Diablo games or the Divinity games.

It's not the mouse buttons, but the assignment of skills to them. You access the skills menu by clicking on the three icons in the bottom left of the screen. But this is much too slow for use in a combat situation.

Just finished the game for a second time, this time as a fire-ball wielding mage. It is much easier to play as a mage! And now I'm rattling through Heroic level - at Turint already smile
