Hi Renee63,

Welcome back, glad you are enjoying playing games again. smile

When the lines and numbers show, it means that some - not all - areas are interactive. Try left-clicking at various points, and if the area is "live", then something will happen. luck

I didn't explain myself very well in that request. My fault. I am looking at a WT from here and it is NOT telling me what to do while in that room (boiler room, for ex.) I am in 1912 Fetch Rock. "Go behind the boiler, turn to the pipe, and turn to the wall." Basically, that is all it is telling me in that room, at that time. And then the next thing it mentions is First level Cornwell map. "See an X on Tallamut area." And then it goes on to the next section, First level 1912 book. "Take note of the highlighted numbers. 160 140 090. ETC. I do not know what to do in each room, according to the WT. It does explain that in 1912, EVP/EMP activity are seen in these places. GREAT! But WHAT do I do in those areas???

"Go behind the boiler, turn to the pipe, and turn to the wall" is the direction you take if you want to be transported to the 2090 AD basement. Once the area shows activity, the detector on your screen will flash and beep, allowing you to click on the wall and travel to that point in time.

"First level Cornwall map" is an item location you can visit if you do not want to time travel. Walk up the stairs to the first level of the lighthouse and you'll see the map on the wall.

Is this the point you are at in the game, or have you jumped ahead a few too many pages? There is another "1912 Fetch Rock" chapter on page 2 of the walkthrough. wave

I am at page 10 in WT, where it says 1912 Fetch Rock and then right below it, 1912 EVP/EMP activity are seen in these places. So yes, it is further into the game. And thanks for saying Where the Map is. smile
--------
I have bounced around to different maps and areas and also with planes and items where the detector starts to beep. It has been a couple of years since I played this game but enough to remember that I can't do anything with the green lines and the numbers to move forward but I will try. I can't remember if I went through a wall in the boiler room but I know I hit different areas with maps.
So, I guess you could say I am in that area now but more importantly, what do I do with the numbers and lines and when the detector is on?

Maybe I am not understanding your question.
When you get an alert with your detector, you use it.
You will then see any anomaly of the object that was detected.

Maybe I am not putting the question right. I am trying to say that I don't know what to do when these anomalies show up. If we are talking about the numbers that show up and the green lines, fine but what do I do then. When I am in the boiler room and theh detector goes off and I see these numbers and green lines. what do I do? What do I hit, where do I go, what do I do? I know I haven't played for a while guys but question seems pretty straight forword to me. What do I do when I hit the detector and the anomalies show up? I would love to play and finish the game but I do need help. You say Use it MaG but how do I use it? Thanks

Hi all I have been gone for a while and it seems no one else has answered but I sure could use some help on this. Please, when I am in the room whether it is the boiler room or any of the other rooms, when the lines and numbers show up, what do I do so I can move on? Please help. Thank you Rushes and MaG.

If I am understanding you correctly, the detector lights up.
You get graphic that is weird because it is detecting something (maybe that is the lines and numbers you are seeing).

I am not sure but I think the number might be how strong your signal is to the anomaly and is used to pinpoint where it is.

Once you know which item, or picture is the anomaly. You can either just look at it and see what happens or if you can click on it.

The detector is just that - like a Geiger counter of outwordly difference.

When you say the numbers may be how strong the signal is what does that mean? Do I just hit on those numbers or what I am clicking on exactly? I hate to be so specific. When I use the cursor on the numbers (green lines) the numbers keep changing, the lines are moving and making them smaller and bigger, but nothing jumps out at me as an anomaly as I am doing this. Maybe that will help explain what I am needing here before I pull my hair out. Thanks

Ok I have clicked on the numbers and they would become larger or smaller but I am not seeing anything like an anomaly that sticks out or catches my eye that I have found something by doing this. I just typed this in and it did not show up so did you delete my latest question?

Well, I think I am about done with the detector in the boiler room and all the other rooms. I finally looked at a WT and it seems like I have done those items and saw the ghost of James etc etc. I am pretty sure when I played this a couple years ago I had done all the other items but now that I am trying to get into Drake's room and put the numbers in, it won't let me. Is there anything that is easy for me? LOL Now what? Is there anything that I should have done that would prevent me from getting into Drake's room and moving on in this game> Thanks

Renee,

Be sure that you fiound the paper clue with DRAKE on it in the crew's room.
Then look close-click on the lock and do the puzzle.

Hi Renee,

If you want to add something to a post you have just made and no-one has posted after you, please use the Edit button rather than stack your posts, thanks It really does help us.

Rushes I didn't stack my messages. I have no idea who did it. If fact, I think I asked that if one of the moderators had done it since it was so confusing/ Sorry but I didn't do it. They were all submitted separately. I am off to the crews room for the paper clue but I thought for sure I had found everything. I found the FRL box on the table and looked at the picture of the bottle but all that did was transport me back to 2004 Is this what you are talking about or should I be finding something else? Thanks

Hi MaG I guess you will have to tell me what I am looking for I have been all over the place and in the crew's beedroom and their kitchen a million times and found lots of hidden stuff and letters to read but not what you are talking about. I am in the year of 1912 so I have to assume this is the time I should be in since this is how I get access to Drake's room. Please let me know what I am looking for and where it is exzactly.

Hi Renee,

Stacking posts means to post multiple new posts within minutes or an hour or two of each other, one after the other, in one thread, without another member's posts inbetween. Posting multiple times this way uses up bandwidth. We always suggest using the Edit button if you need to add a comment or a question to a post very recently made, if no-one has posted after you.

Hope that's a little clearer. grin

As for the problem you're having with gaining access to Drake's room:

First enter the crew room (the area with the table, chairs and kitchen facilities).
Turn left while facing the supplies cabinet and look close at the FRL crate.
Click on the cloth at right to reveal a hidden compartment.
See a picture of a grounded ship and paper with DRAKE, stars and numbers on it. That's your clue. luck

Hi Rushes I already found that and wrote it down. Could I have left something out when I was in the hangar or something to do with an airplane. I know there was some areas there that I was really confused about the dectector at that point. I know I did some items. If I left something undone there, could it mess me up now with Drake's room or am I able to move on> It does seem like I am able to do all these other things now with the dectector. What do you think? Do I have to go back?MaG I just saw your post and it said something about a puzzle. Are you talking about what I looked at in the FRL crate or somewhere else? I don't remember any puzzle there so that may be what I have forgotten to do but I am not seeing that. Thanks

That's good that you've found the paper. thumbsup Now you have the information that you need to open Drake's door.

Return to the door, flip up the lock lid and look at the buttons.

Numbering the buttons from left to right as 1 - 4, press in this order:
1 2 1 3 2 4 3 4
And the door will open.

luck

hi Rushes .I have tried that and I can't get the figures to open to put in the numbers. Did you read my post above that I said that? Also, MaG mentioned something about a puzzle, and I am not sure what she is talking about. I also asked if I had missed something back a little bit where I had to put a know on a radio or something and I am wondering if I missed something back then I will have to go back and re-do some things.I don't remember going to the cave under the lighthouse but like I said, I had been sick for so long there is a lot of stuff I forgot and some items I Missed. Would it let me go forward like this if I missed something and/or does that mean I have to go back from a save there and re-do that area? The WT said there was a green symbol and I don't remember if I saw that. Since I can go back and forth with the dectector and pictures or what not, could I go back there and do some of those things now without having to re-do everything? Thanks

I've read back, but can't see where you posted that you couldn't get the panel lid to lift - is that what you are having trouble with? Can you get any active cursor on the panel in order to flip it up? As you have seen the coded note then you should be able to access the panel & room with no problems.

As far as I know there are no dead ends in this game. If you are worried that you might not have covered everything, check against the walkthrough from the moment you land at 1912 Fetch Rock - there are only 2 walkthrough pages to read that bring you up to the point with Drake's door. Go back and recover areas you are not sure about, or play through again from an earlier saved game.

I jcan lift the panel and looked at WT and it doesn't expain or tell me anything other than I need to input the numbers as they are written and I am not able to do this so am assuming that I have to go back somewhere and something I missed. You are right, I never did say I couldn't lift the panel at Drake's door because I only said that I was able to lift it but it won't let me input the numbers. All I get are the designs and they just click away but they won't open for me to type the numbers in. Very frustrating''''''''''''
I have the dectector so I got that far and I also have a knob in my inventory so I also did that. I have a name of puzzle for the Lighthouse Puzzle by Andrew Verny so I may start there and see what I have done but I know I did quite a bit just not sure what. Like you said, it isn't that much and if I have problems again, I will come and ask. It may be something as silly as hearing voices again and seeing the numbers of 120 180 020. Regardless, I am not getting into the room. It will not open those designs on the panel so off I go.
I am not editing because this is a new post. I went back and know I did all those things and helped with the WT and I also looked back at the WT since it had been so long ago and I had forgotten so much stuff. I realized at one point I had gotten into Drake's room but of course all of those things I have forgotten but I am not frustrated and ticked off. I am still not getting in. I did see some buttons on the small lighthouse in 2004 with buttons on the bottom and had no clue what to do if in fact there was something to do there but I continued on then hit one of the pictures to go back to 1912 and back up to Drake's room and it just isn't working. Should I just get a save and start playing from there or is there a puzzle that MaG mentioned I should have played and that may it. I need some help here since I have no idea what to do next. HELP'''

Renee,

I think that if you can click on the asterisks-stars, you can enter the correct code.
Maybe you are netering the wrong code and that is why it is not opening.

Click on 1 and then 2 and then 3 and then 4....

I can open the panel but when I click on theh panel, it will not let me open the stars to get to the numbers so it is not a matter of putting the numbers in wrong. I have the numbers from the crews room as shown above but I am not getting access to the numbers. Is there something I am doing wrong to open those stars to get access to the numbers? Also MaG, you mentioned a puzzle on one of yours posts above and you still haven't answered as to what puzzle you are talking about. I may just have to get a save from this point so I can move on in this game. Unless someone tells me how to open the stars to get to the numbers, I am at a loss. MaG, you say to hit 1 and then 2 and then 3 ect. That is what I am doing but the stars don't open. Thanks

Hi Renee,

The stars don't open - they don't move at all. You allocate a virtual number to each star - first star on the left is 1, second star from the left is 2, etc. - then you click on the stars in the sequence that will take you from 1 through to 8. No numbers will appear; nothing will happen until you have entered the code correctly, and then the door will open. luck

Duh I knew that:::lol Ok so I just hit on them as to what sequence they are and it will open. I hit the first star and then the second star and then the first star again since that is number 3 and then I hit the third star since that is number 4 and then I hit number 2 since that is 5 etc etc Duh what a ninny I am. See, that is all had to be told. lol If I am wrong, and it doesn't work, you shall see hair flying around in Ramona Ca...................FYI I got in so thanks all. I can't believe I didn't approach it the right way or you guys didn't mention that but in the end it always works out right. Eventually we get to the right answer so thank you Rushes. Now when I start Myst V again, I hope I can get out of the jam I am in where I left off. LOL
