I have just started this game and have downloaded the patch. I'm suppose to save my game by holding down the space bar then hold the item over the back pack then click once to put things in inventory. When I use my space bar, the preference screen come up along with where the inventory is. The back pack doesn't come up for me to put anything in inventory. I must be doing something wrong. Thank you for your help.

What happens when you just press and not hod down the space bar. (I don't remember doing that).
Also do you see a save and save as at any part of the preference screen?

-------
I saw this in a review:

A combined inventory and preferences menu is accessible with the spacebar, and provides full control over transitions, graphics, saved games and other customizations...

Unfortunately, this screen must be brought up each time an inventory item is stored or retrieved.

To store an object, its cursor must be clicked on a particular spot in this menu screen. .....

MAG, when I press the space bar the preference screen comes up. It doesn't matter if I hold the space bar or just press it one time, the same thing happens. (There is a save and save as in the preference screen.) How do I store an inventory item when the preference screen keeps coming up? Say for instance, the numbers written on a scrap of paper behind one of the cards in the check box on the bed. I click on the scrap of paper and then press the space bar one time but the preference screen keeps coming up. I can't get the peice of paper into the inventory. I have tried to click on an empty box in inventory but I still can't get the peice of paper into the inventory. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Thank you for your help.

Garfield,

When you bring up the Preferences screen, the inventory is at the bottom. The backpack is over on the far left bottom of the screen, in the corner. It looks like a folded over pouch and it's easy to overlook.

Have the item you want to store on your cursor and click it once on the backpack. Then I believe you'll see the item in one of the inventory squares.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Jema, I will try to grab onto the peice of paper and put it in the bag. I will let you know how I do.

Jema, I tried to do what you suggested but when I grip the peice of paper and press the space bar, nothing happens until I release my grip on the peice of paper, then the preference screen appears. At that point I do not have the peice of paper on my cursor because I can't grip it and get into the preference screen at the same time. I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and installed the patch for it and it still does the same thing. I don't know what to do now. Thank you for your help.

GarfieldOdi,
Left click on what you want to pick up, if you see it hanging from your hand on the screen, then hit spacebar to bring up preferences, you should still see the item hanging from your hand, then drag over to the bag, drop it in. It's a drop and drag, system. I hope this makes sense to you. This is for inventory.
For save see save as (you name and save) or just save, in perferences. If you just save when you start game, it should just bring up where you left off. Rots saves tricky to find, I made a folder.
My favorite game.

Thank you Charllotte. I have tried to left click on it but it won't attach to my cursor. I will try it again one more time and will let you know.

GarfieldOdi,
Your cursor has to change to a hand (actually a fist, like grabbing) before you can pick it up. It's a great game I have it installed on three computers.

GarfieldOdi,

I'm glad you got over that hurdle. Enjoy the game. Like Charllotte said, it's a great game. It's one of my all-time favorites.

It's me again. I have another problem. I'm using the WT by MAG. I have just finished the Astrological Forechambers and I'm outside the door in the hallway. The WT says to go to the Queen's Chamber. I have gone down the hallway trying to find it but eventually I end up right back in front of the Sacred Astrological Chamber door. How do I find the Queen's Chamber from here? Thank you for your help.

GarfieldOli,
If I remember and my notes are right. If you are in the hidden corridor facing the Astrological false door turn right, go forward to the end, turn right, go forward to end (should pass some doors)turn right to the large Cobra, then to the Kings Chamber. If this doesn't work I will try to replay and talk you through, or somewhere, I might have and old Jeff Tober guide.

I found the Queen's Chamber and have found the column with the gold snake around it. I just finished putting the keys in the harps. Thank you all for your help.

I have another problem. I'm using the WT by MAG. I have just finished with the Gold Pyramid. The WT says to bo back to the Funerary Yacht Chamber (I love those warp arrows) and up to the Queens corridor. The WT says to turn right on the hallway (didn't I come out from behind that big statue?) and go down to the far end. Would I have passed the two big statues or not? Anyway, I went down to the far end and saw a door with a circular gold maze map above it. The WT says to take a peek inside and I would see a gold coiled circlet lying on an alter. Is the alter inside the maze room? I didn't see that. Then the WT says this door looks similar to the first side room entered, with the lever handle and the statue of a standing Pharaoh. The WT says to go back to that room. I don't know how to get to that room or if the one that I have found is that room instead. I'm not sure which way to go or how to find the other room. Thank you for your help.
