I am working on the puzzle for the hallway, in the mansion. I have the dowel rods together, and I have everything measured right.. However, I cannot get the file to file the ends of the dowels. It did the first one but not the rest. Also, I cannot get the nail to stay put so I can hammer it. Has anyone played past this point, so they can tell me what I did wrong? Thank you. I really like this game. Thanks

A lot of members have played this game already.

Are you doing this preparation on the worktable at the cellar?

Before you file the thin dowels, have you cut and placed the wide dowel on the left of the setup? This should be the handle.

How do you know that it did not file the other small dowels? Have you clicked the file on all the laid out dowels?
Place the nailes on the left side of the vertical dowel and they should rest there like in the picture.

I know the dowels aren't filed because there is not any noise and the ends do not look like the first one. I have everything where it should be. The nail for the handle will not stay put.

Julia,

Did you put nails in all of the dowels, as in the picture below? think

I cannot get the balls on the Turks door to move. The red arrow shows up, but the balls just sit there. I know there is a solution as I have the read the walkthrough. I just can't get the balls to co-operate. Can you help, thanks

What have you tried doing to move them? Not sure but think you just click on the arrow for the direction in which you want them to move. The direction(s) they will move varies but the arrows indicate this.

I have a save for just after doing this puzzle if you need it. laugh

I didn't do it......and if I did I'm not guilty!

Julia,

From MaG's WT, "Take the beaver's cadaver-carcass beside the bloody chopping block at right and by the gate of the stable." Did you calm the horses so you can get to the area in front of the horses? luck wave

I can get in front of the horses but I do not see a dead beaver.

Hi Lizau,

Have you already found the page of the book with the diagram, elsewhere in the room? That will help.

If you examine the diagram you'll notice that the sections have symbols & writing on them. The individual triangles of the puzzle can be exchanged with each other. Work on the smaller triangles first, then the larger ones. You'll know when you've got the right match. Test each exchange by clicking on the bat at the top.

The gems must then be moved, trial and error, to their correct positions also. They'll light up if correctly done.

luck

I don't have the game right now so cannot further clarify what I'm about to say. I made a note that I would hope will make sense when looking at the puzzle. If the following makes no sense to you then just ignore it. laugh

Click to reveal..
My note shows: Horizonally- Green; White; Red; Blue. Vertically (top to bottom)- Green; White; Red; White.

Hi Lizau,

Have you checked MaG's walkthrough HERE, it gives great instruction for how to solve the picture puzzle.

Good luck, let us know if you still have problems. luck

I can't get into the game now but I made myself a rather cryptic note on this puzzle. I believe, if memeory serves me correctly, it means to find squares that line up horizonally and vertically in a certain order and use them. If so, the following is going to be a

HORIZONALLY = Green; White; Blue; Blue VERTICALLY = Green; White; Red; White;
