I just started this game and I'm using the WT by MAG. The WT tells me how to save my game but does not tell me how to get to the blank save frames. I goofed and lost all that I did but that's ok, I know what to do now. Could someone point me in the right direction?

Thank you for your help.

Garfield,

This is from the walkthrough's second sentence under gameplay:

The main menu has new, load, save, resume, exit game, options and credits. Pressing ESC during gameplay bring back the Main Menu.

From the save menu - click a blank frame. luck

------
Also you can check the manual. smile

Thank you MAG, I guess I didn't see that. I need to pay more attention. Hopefully I won't have any more problems.

I'm stuck again. I'm using the WT by MAG. I have finished in the Courtyard. I got there by using the map of the estate in the note book. Now I'm inside the banquet room again as Sherlock Holmes. The WT says to go where Lamb (I believe he's the coachman)is standing and use the magnifying glass on the white speck in front of the service door. I last saw Lamb in the court yard I think but now I can't get there. I tried to use the map of the estate but it's gone and there is a map of London. I see what looks like the estate on the map and I get a hand icon when I go near it but I can't get the map to change to the estate. I know I'm missing something but I can't figure it out. Thank you for your help.

Holmes should automatically move outside to speak to Watson if you've completed everything inside the Hall. Check to make sure that you've collected all the evidence you can indoors, read all documents that you've picked up, and spoken to everyone, and see if that will let Holmes move outside. luck, let us know if you still have problems.

I think Sherlock has already talked to Watson. Now Sherlock is in the banquet room and the WT says he needs to talk to Lamb. Lamb is the coachman that was outside but I don't know how to get to him. Will Sherlock automatically go out to him. Ooops, I think I know where I mess up. Maybe Sherlock never went outside to talk to Watson yet and that is why the WT says for Sherlock to talk to Lamb. Sherlock should already be outside. Should I try talking to everyone again? I think I have picked up everything it said to. Also, I noticed my other saves are not there when I save another game. What happened to them?

Thank you so much for your help. I could never get through these games without your help.

You can switch between Watson and Holmes any time during this first part at the Hall, but you'll need to have completed everything as Holmes before you can finally go outside and join Watson and pick up the evidence on the ground close to Lamb.

Be sure to click in an empty box when you're saving your games, otherwise you may be overwriting the same save.

luck

I think maybe I will start over again tomorrow. Maybe then I will have done everything like it says to do. I save in an empty box but the others are gone. Maybe things will go smoother the third time around.

Thank you for your help once again.

I have replayed the game and finished with Watson in the court yard. The WT says: As Sherlock Holmes, go to where Lamb is standing and use the magnifying glass on the white speck in front of the service door. I'm assuming that at this point that Sherlock is suppose to appear in the court yard. He didn't appear this time either. When I go back into the banquet room and click on the door to go out side, Sherlock says "that it is not the time to join Watson, I have not examined everything". I have been very careful to follow the directions and do everything it says to do. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your help. GarfieldOdi

Have you closely examined all items picked up in your inventory? If something can be opened, open it to see what's inside. If you picked up a card or a document, make sure that it is read, otherwise Holmes won't have the information he needs to go back outside and join Watson. Also go back and talk to everyone you can find to see if they have anything new to say.

This is a frustrating section of the game, good luck, let us know how you get on.

ok, I will open and read everything again and talk to everyone again. Hopefully this will get Sherlock out to the court yard. Thanks again for your help.

Nothing is working. I have gone back to everything in inventory that needs to be read and read it again. I also talked to everyone again. When I talked to Lt. Herrington (the one that defends Lavinia) then I end up at the court yard but not with Sherlock. Did I need to talk to Lt. Herrington while I was talking to Colonel Patterson and the bar tender? This is getting so frustrating. I have already started over three times. If I have to, I will start over again or go back to one of my saves in the beginning. Any help you can give me is always appreciated. GarfieldOdi

Open your My Computer folder.
Open your main Disk drive C.
Open Program Files.
Open Digital Jester or UbiSoft Folder folder or the name of the publisher of the game
Open Sherlock Holmes folder,.
Open Silver Earring folder.
Open SAVE folder. See pictures in this folder. Check what the last number is.
Download the graphic saved game files attached to this mail to the desktop.
Relabel this downloaded picture to be the last number. Remember and be careful of the zeroes and periods.
Then place it together with the rest in that SAVE folder.
Close all folders, play the game as usual and load the saved game.
You might need to scroll to the beginning of the saved game files to look for this one.

I am using the WT by MAG. I am at Richmond's Abbey. I have taken the path to the left. I went to the right at the cross roads. This is where I get confused. I went past the pond and to the end. I did not see any fire or smoke. I'm lost after that. I did go back to the cross roads and went right to the end. Then I went back to the pond. I do not see the pail and I know I can't proceed without it. Thank you for your help.

Hi GarfieldOdi,

You need to make a few turnings once you're past the pond:

Go one screen past the pond on the left and turn left.
Turn right at the next crossroad.
Turn middle left at next crossroad.
See a pail at left by the road. (You won't be able to pick it up yet.)
Take the small path going up at the next crossroad.
Go forward and smell smoke.

Then backtrack and grab the pail and fill it at the pond.

luck
