Hello,
I am in the library talking to Hubert de Nolent, in the middle of the interview I am supposed to become hungry and go down to eat in the dining room, then I continue the game from there.
I made a save as I entered the library. I have tried this several times , but all I get is a phone call from a chopper pilot and I am NOT going down to eat.
So I am stuck....why don't I get hungry and go to the dining area?
Thanks for the help!

Hank

Did you try to continue the conversation or make your way to the door?

Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

Hi Hank,

You're not stuck; whether Norm goes to eat or not makes no difference to how the game progresses (these trips to the dining room are more of a hindrance than a help!). Carry on talking to Nolent, visit other locations and speak to other characters, continue playing the game.

The current location of any character can be found in your Character Database, beneath the character's name. A very useful feature of the game.

Hank,

It drove me nuts when Norm went to eat or went to his room for a phone call. crazy Just continue your conversation with Nolent and go on from there. luck wave

Thank you all!! I am going to try to follow your advice!
Appreciate it hear?
Hank
Many hours later....I have made good progress, finished talking to Billy at the piano in the bar, then I opened my PPA and followed entering all the clues etc.I did it carefully three times, but every time I was told it wasn't a match and I am stuck again,
I did go beyond it to talk to Hubert on the 21st floor, but Norm said he had all the answers he needed. He was supposed to get some more info out of Hubert, but he was busy and had nothing to say!
Please help and thanks again.

Hank, which Mandate are you working on right now?

In your Clue Database, how far across is the progression bar? If it's only partly completed, then you still have people to talk to and things to do. If the bar is full, then you have all the evidence you need and can start placing clues across to the Mandate box.

I will check it out! but I know I have missed some conversations, because Norm didn't get hungry! if he did I would have been able to do more talking with the 2 guys in the dining hall.So how do I get to the dining hall to find them? I did eventually get down there, but guess what? everybody was gone! no one to talk to.
Quite problematic huh?
Thanks again!

Find out their current location by using the Character Database, then head straight over to wherever they are. luck

Hi again,
I clicked on the mandate bar, it is full and she said: Yes Jack, you have now all the clues to answer this question.
I put all the pieces in place (3x now!) and there is NO match!?
What am I doing wrong?

I found my problem, I had a wrong pic. I am progressing nicely and am standing at the safe in Hubert's office.
Thanks for the help!!

Hank,

Are you click-hold drop the clue from the right to the left?
Did you click the OK button when you finished all the little squares?
Are you selecting the correct clues for the mandate or square at left?

What mandate are you trying to answer?

Thanks everyone....I have finished the game after all!
Thanks to all your help!
I am selling the game, because I was bored out of my skull with all the lengthy conversations. No more murder mysteries for me hahaha!
however, I really enjoyed the Siberia series by Benoit Sokal!!!
Take care!

Great that you finished the game, Hank. thumbsup

If a lot of dialogue in a game bothers you, always make sure to check out reviews/other gamers' comments on any game before you buy. Sinking Island is one of the most dialogue-intensive games I've ever played! I had a great time with it, though. grin
