If i remember correctly the saves were automatic. I remember this cause i used to die a lot at the beginning of the game and i have to play the same part of the game over and over
Fear can hold you prisoner. Hope can set you free.

Hank, I checked a forum posting over at GameSpot. A member there posted: The game does NOT save when using the "play episode" option from the main menu. It also throws you right back to the menu after the episode. In order to actually save and continue, you need to start the game normally, either start a new game or continue your old save. Here's the link to that forum page: GameSpot Hope that helps.

I am going to try that and thanks everyone!
Yes. it is working better now, however, I am getting killed a lot by the black cloud, but it starts me off again by the bamboo bushes with John Lock! Also it will save when I hit the continue button instead of playing an episode.Any ideas of how I can avoid BC? It mostly happens by the big tree, I hear him and I run to some bamboos and then he is looking at me for a while and disappears, but I cannot progress beyond that point or he kills me again.

Hank, I've merged your new thread with your old one. Please stay with your thread here, instead of starting new ones. Thank you. We'll have to wait for anyone who's played the game.

Get used to that Black Cloud Hank!!! I played this game- and you are going to face that cloud many times. You cannot avoid him- you need to run to a nearby bush and hide until it passes- there are bushes you can run to to avoid being killed by him all along the trail- but you have to find them-- you can tell when he is getting near- if I remember correctly its the music- and your breathing will tell you when you can come out of the bush and go onto the next one. I saved a lot when in the jungle-- would try and spot the next bush I could run to and it usually took several times to get to it but when I did I saved so I would not have to start at the very beginning. you will meet BC again running thru a trail and you have to run- jump and duck!!-- practice and patience will be a help Good luck--

Thanks man, however, you talk about YOU saving a lot, I thought that you could NOT save manually, the game does automatic saves, right? (I sure don't like that !!) also....don't you have to follow the signs of debris to lead you to the cockpit for the camera?

Hank, Sorry---I'ts been awhile since I played the game- I hid in the bushes and could not save you are correct- this was one of the frustrating parts of the game-- to take your time- hide and wait-- . I had to replay these areas many times. Make sure you have matches- light--pick up as much as you can. At one point I went to YouTube and googled lost--- watched some video when the BC was chasing him on the trail-- it helped READ this -------------------------------- The sole purpose of having flashbacks is to remember important facts from your past. As you’ve probably noticed, the main character of the game is suffering from the effects of amnesia. The scene of the first flashback will take place on board of the plane, before the crash has even occured. You will have to perform certain actions in order to bring back some important memories. Make sure that you’ve read a hint window, because you’ll find out what has to be done in order to succeed. Start off by pressing the E key, so the main character will be able to choose the camera from his inventory. You will have to zoom the view on Kate by pressing the upper cursor. Kate should stop next to the stewardess and that’s when you’ll have to photograph her. You’ll also have to adjust focus by pressing left and right cursor keys. Once you’re ready (screen), take a photo by pressing the SPACE key. Important! If you’re too late or if you didn’t adjust focus, the game will go back in time, so you’ll be allowed to try again. Thankfully, you’ll be given an unlimited ammount of retries. lost walkthrough
