I am stuck with a bird covered in oil in the bath. I have the equipment to clean it but need a bird book from the mainland. I spent all my money there buying a sketch book so the librarian won't give me the book. I've sent a telegram for funds but none have arrived. Do I have to go back to an earlier save or is there another way. Bought that rotten sketch book ages ago.

You have to do a lot of things first before the money will arrive. Talk to everyone in town - the Inspector and the ones at the Inn.

Thank for your reply but I have knocked on every door, inside and out, entered some and taken stuff. Don't know where everyone has gone, there's no one on the beaches to talk to. Guess I've missed something somewhere and will have to go back to an early save

Check the walkthrough and see if you missed doing something.
