Please help (and please post in the Darkside if this where this plea for help must go).

I am having trouble killing or avoiding the spiders in this game. I have made it past the first set of tunnels (with the parafin), but now, after the first appearance of the worm, I can not fend off the spiders. Can someone please help me with the best way either to avoid or kill the spiders.

If you can't avoid them, the best thing against them is the pick axe. Try to raise it up high , and when the spider jumps at you, swing it down.
