Don't mean to be negative, but doesn't advertising this site make some of the best features on GB's website, i.e., buying/trading games, less available?

I don't think so Laurette.

Members have always had the option of buying new or downloading from somewhere else. wave

There are countless posts here requesting info on where to download or purchase games. GameBoomers has taken the most reputable companies in service and are making them readily available for use. Those that do not like downloads will be purchasing from Interact or elsewhere just like usual.

I suppose I was not being clear. What I meant, is if, eventually, everybody purchased their games by downloading, they couldn't sell or trade their games to anyone else. I wasn't being critical of GB. I love this site. Thanks.

I like my boxes so I don't download games, but I eventually came to realize that a lot of people prefer that method. Therefore, you will find my game in The Adventure Shop too (but do you really want to forfeit your chance for a signed copy smile )?

What happens if your internet goes down or if you have to forfeit your account for some reason? At that point, all d/l games from a web site can't be used because you have to be on the internet in order to install them.

I buy very little hard copies. I just install them (all or most of them are on GB). Is it better to buy the CD?

What we're doing is giving the gamers the chance to access games whether boxed or download - based on their preference. It is the gamers' choice what they want to buy.

Laurette, you are correct if everybody were to download games only then the supply of games to trade via cd/dvd would eventually dry up.

Tammy64, All dl games do not require you to be online to install. Some do some don't. For those that do, it's true if their site goes away or you don't have access then you are toast. Check carefully before buying to know how they operate.

Is it better to buy cd or download? It depends on what you like to do with your games. The hard copy is yours as long as the cd is in good condition and you can trade/sell it. The DL you can't do this. However, for games that don't require an internet connection to install you can burn a copy to a cd and use whenever. You just can't sell or trade it. As I recall, I am not certain, but I believe the Adventure Company does not require you to be connected to install the game. Ask them they will tell you. The Adventure Company is very good when it comes to answering customer questions.

Mag, Kudus to GB for providing the choice. It is another fine service of this excellent site.

Do the games from the Adventure Shop after you've downloaded them still need an Internet connection?

Downloads may leave more money in the developer's pocket rather than the people between you and the developer - so meaning you're more likely to see more games. This is more likely for cases where it's the developer's own site you're getting the game from.

Please hold all questions for now and there will be a formal announcement made in due time regarding the inclusion of The Adventure Shop. All of your questions may be asked and answered at that time.

Ana thanks
