I would like to try an Adventure game while I await a new IHOG. I'm getting sick of HOG's.

I need one that isn't so hard that I have to play with a printed walkthrough in my hand. I don't mind peeking now and then but if I have to play it by the WT it's no fun.

I prefer mystery and uncomplicated plots. Something with good graphics and sound that plays on Vista and that is sold on Big Fish.

Can you recommend a good game?

PS I played both Syberia's and LOVED them.

It sounds like todays Club Game (Egypt III aka Egyptian Prophecy) is for you! It was easy and fun!

See the review for Egyptian Prophecy in our review section.

I agree. It is logical and fun to play. It is one of my favorites.

Egyptian Prophecy is on BigFish now?

EDIT: I just checked it out. Fate of Ramses was the European title, I take it. lol So it you're a member it's available today, but it will be available tomorrow for non-members?

The review I read said:

[i]Most of the gameplay involves basic puzzle solving. You wander around the beautifully realised settings interviewing people and searching for clues. The storyline is complex

I'm not fond of interviewing people. That means I have to keep notes while playing and it says the storyline is complex. Not sure this is the game for me.

Since the adventure games don't have a demo I have to rely on reviews and recommendations from folks like you. laugh

All we can do is give you our opinions NYLady, the rest is up to you.

Those lines were definitely not taken from GameBoomers Jenny100 review which is much more on target. Please add where you are quoting from or link to it as I am sure it's copyrighted.

Broken Sword 2.5 is an excellent game. In German, but with English subtitles - Bonus!!!!!!!!!!

Or you could try downloading ScummVM and playing an oldie-but-goodie: Beneath A Steel Sky, Flight Of The Amazon Queen or Drascula.

All freebies.

Hope you find a good game,

Dave

Thank you, Dave... can't beat the price. I'll try them. Are the downloads safe?

Good Grief! I've just finished reading the review for Egyptian Prophecy by Jenny100 and discovered that this is a game I tried to play years ago. I tried and failed completely, no wonder I didn't recognize it. I couldn't find anything or do anything as the interface had me totally lost. I do remember trying to talk to a laborer who ignored me so that didn't work. I had a walkthrough but couldn't find the places I was supposed to go. I recognized the game when I was reading about the inventory and how it worked, or in my case, didn't work. I've just had a very narrow escape since I was thinking maybe I would try it!

To love is to be happy with!

I got this game when it was originally released but it wouldn't work on my Win98SE machine.
However, I kept it and tried again when I got WinXP - and it was definitely worth the wait.
I enjoyed the game very much thumbsup

Hi NYLady
Might I suggest you try Cleopatra - Riddle of the Tomb?
I played it, and found it an absolute delight.
Very accurate historically for that period in Egypt's history.
Puzzles were ok, and the story was secondary. Lovely game!

Perhaps you might try Aura or The Sacred Rings (Aura 2)
Both are really pretty and lots of fun. Very Myst-like.
Cheers

I just finished Egypt 3 from bfg and it was a great game. I used MaG's walkthrough which was spot on. Got a bit lost sometimes, but that's just me. Try it - you'll love it.

I got it from BFG for $6.99. It is one of their large file games.

It is an Interactive Hidden Object Game. You find the objects and then have to use them to do something that usually opens up the next set of hidden objects.

Robar, BFG is Big Fish Games.

Club Members can get games for as low as 6.99. They have a lot of regular adventures now as well as casual games.
