I am stuck at the gramophone, I cannot get the flag to stay anywhere on the gramophone. Is there something I missed doing?

Hi cmcd,

Have you placed the silver needle yet? Also the handle and cylinder?

Once the needle is placed you can lower the lever left of the flag and it will position correctly.

luck, let us know if you still have problems.

Icannot place the needle the cylinder or the flag. The handle is in place. I just get the gears with a red line when ever I try to place the other things. Dont I have to get the flag out of the box and placed somewhere on the gramophone first?

You might not be placing it in the active spot. Move the cursor and see if you can hit the right spot.

As for the flag - it can be placed first but do not lower the lever that changes the position of the flag or it will block the rest. - Ah that might be it - check the lever position and see.

cmcd,

Please use one thread per game. You can find all your posts at My Place on top of each page. This way we can follow your gameplay and you do not push another member off the front page. Thanks.

Read all the documents that you picked up. Also check all the active spot in the office part - phone, fireplace...
If you picked any item, examine them. luck

havent got back to you because I have Vista and it is not good with saves. Have only ever been able to use one. Before TexasLady died she sent me a link to "saves for dummies". I will try to find it and see if I can use your save. Also so many new games, I have been finishing new ones, save hard ones for later.Thnx for the save, I will figure it out..

I having trouble with this game as well. I'm on Vladoviste Day 5. I stepped off the train and was on the way to the inn and did smell something burning. However, I can't find Ionel. If I go forward, it puts me in the ruins and I searched for him there. Am I in the wrong spot?
By the way, reading some posts here, I was unaware that TexasLady had passed on. She used to help me all the time. Sorry to hear about her passing!

Once you go to the ruins and you can turn right to an inner part of then ruins. Ionel might be standing by the door of one of the house - look around.

Yes - Sue is looking down on us and laughing.

Ok, I've gone along further and am at the point of trying to take Janos' letter from documents and I can't seem to do it. Do I have the right document as the one I am talking about is Janos' note?

You should have picked up Janos' letter from the inn counter. Is that the one you have? Looking at it through the enlarger will give you some interesting info.

Iam now in Dracula's cellar and have played sucessfully against Janos. I've gone through the door into a hallway that has two puzzles on either side. I've done the left puzzle correctly but I don't hear the bar from the gate being withdrawn. I have done this puzzle three times with no success on the bar. I have used the cup and plotted my way from tears to tears, sweat to sweat and blood to blood. So I went to do the skull puzzle and looked up the pictures of punishment. I get confused as there are six nails and many skulls. The pictures indicate 8 people ready to be staked. Am I supposed to put the nails on the ones that are in line to be staked and is it to be in order from the line? and what am I doing wrong with the left puzzle? I didn't cross any of the liquids.

This should help, maxcat:

As for the liquids, make sure that you have opened all the gates necessary to allow the liquids to flow freely to the next square. I was held up here too, until I realised that I had one gate closed which needed to be open.

luck

The skull puzzle worked, thanks. And the liquids puzzle I did backwards, still doing sweat, tears and blood. I saved the game at that point once the door dropped. I moved into the next room turned around and pulled the lever and the gate came down. Across the abyss, on the wall was a tile puzzle that I can't seem to do anything with. The walkthrough says it's on the floor but I can't find it. Any suggestions as to how to do this puzzle from across the abyss?

It's on the floor if you're facing the gate - not the well.

I saw that panel and tried to open it and something came up out of the abyss and I was dead. Is it that panel?

You should see the words "Don't look back" on the panel. So once you see that, don't turn around back towards the well, otherwise you'll die. Click the handle on the panel and it will open up to reveal the tile puzzle.
