Sandlot Games has released a new fantasy point-and-click adventure.

Quote:
Embark on Sandlot Games' greatest adventure yet in The Legend of Crystal Valley™, where your most powerful weapon is your mind!

When Eve receives a mysterious and disturbing letter from her long-estranged father, who for years has lived an increasingly secluded life, she travels to the family estate in France in order to find him. After arriving, she discovers that her father has disappeared.

Now, in order to find him, Eve must explore Crystal Valley, an alternate fantasy world inhabited by strange creatures, and piece together the clues that reveal her family's true identity.

Over 200 items and item combinations
More than 40 key characters
8 full-length chapters
Over 200 interior and exterior sub-locations

The developer of the game indicates this is the "casual" version of the game so I am posting it here. There is also going to be a "hardcore" version.

Here are the links:

thanks SSM

I think their version of casual adventure is more like our definition of adventure, so I'm moving you to the Adventure forum. It does look like a beautiful game though. wave

Hi SSM -- I modified the title of your thread slightly so that I could sticky it. An intriguing game! Any idea as to what the "hardcore" version will entail?

Curious that they haven't modified the game's main website to reflect the fact that the game released.

This game looks really good. I will probably wait for the "hardcore" version, though, as I'm guessing that there will be more to it. smile

What's a hardcore version? I hope it's the game available to buy on a CD/DVD from a store. laugh

I wonder if the "casual" version means the game was trimmed so it could be downloadable. The "hardcore" version might mean hard copy -- i.e. CD or DVD, which might have a few extra things the "casual" version didn't.

The developer discusses the difference in versions in the AG preview linked to in the opening post (there's a two-age interview following the preview itself). Short version: same game, same content but the "casual" version includes some user-friendly features to help with the learning curve that experienced adventure gamers wouldn't need (but might still welcome).

Hi, SSM

Game looks interesting....I noticed there is a demo..So I am downloaded it now...

Will let everyone know what "I" Think..

Thanks, SSM

Edit: 10 minutes into the demo...

Very nice game...Nice interface..You have a nice size inventory...

I have only one complaint....When you click on an item ..Like a door ...You have to read on the bottom what you can & cannot do...There is no voice dialog... smirk

I am playing the demo and loving it. Please can someone tell me where do I find the oil for the lantern? I think its called petrol if I remember right. I am trying to get in the dark shed and need the light.

Where is the walkthrough for this game?

Do you think BFG will be releasing this also?

Sherryah, please ask for Hints in the Hints forum, MaG justv stated above that Chief was writing a walkthrough. There is a channce that BFg will pick this up. It fits the criteria of what they normally release.

Lily.bart -- that is so kind of you -- thanks! (I hope I'm not prying if I say this: I know your future! Marry the first young man who offers -- the alternative is deplorable!)
