Tomorrows game today. I was really in a hurry to download. I have the oiginal, but never could play it. Now I don't know the best way for a dummy to navigate this. When some one can tell me , would you please. I'm taking forever just to get to the next scene.

Thanks

This might be the remastered version. If so, check in inventory to change the point of view.

There should be a manual included in the game folder - so check there to familiarize yourself. I think it's in pdf form.

Gameplay movement can be played using the mouse or keyboard. Press and hold of the left button makes the character walk where you orient the mouse. Double left click will make the character run.

Hmmm I don't know if it just me and a particular mood I am currently in but I am not getting deeply involved in this game. I have looked forward to it for so long from the reviews and it was not available here in my country for a long time- . this game is not holding my attention.

Is it just the beginning of the game that is boring? - I am up to the docks part so I i did not last long here with attention span.

BellaRosa -- the atmosphere changes once you leave England. The puzzles and story remain pretty consistent, though.

Bella, I thought this was the best Sherlock game ever. It gets much more involved as you go along, try and stick with it and see if can grab you.

Ok thanks I will perservere for sure. At the moment I seem to be wandering endlessly around the docks as you do I guess in adventure games, but there does not seem to be much to look at or interact with.

I will keep going - hey I am an adveneturer smile

I have the original game but, for some reason I cannot now remember I had to uninstall it - I think a glitch or similar. Could you please tell me exactly what the 'remastered version' means? Has it ironed out any glitches etc?

Many thanks thumbsup

Hi bermag, I also have the original but don't remember experiencing any glitches. The remastered version gives players the option to play in third person perspective - many players experienced motion sickness from playing the original because of the first person perspective & 3D panning & some people couldn't play it at all because of it. I would guess any 'glitches' have been ironed out & there is at least one place where one of the more awkward puzzles has been simplified. What's very good is that you can still play in first person if you want or easily switch back & forth between first & third while playing the game. I suffer from motion sickness & prefer the option to play in third person, but at times I found it advantageous to be able to switch to first person for short periods to get the full benefit of the 3D surroundings for a more immersive experience & also to help navigate better & locate items.! smile

Just finished, and I enjoyed it very much--good puzzles, interesting story (weird, but then I like weird things). And lazy bones that I am, I appreciated the help dealie for those *** moments. I had to turn the graphics down for my ancient PC, but honestly, that was really OK, because dang. Euw. XD I started out not liking the First Person mode, but within an hour, I used it almost exclusively--it was just easier to get around, and I missed too much of the scenery in Third Person.

So, was it just me, or did anyone else really really want to slap Watson within half an hour of starting the game? It's not so much that he was mostly useless, though there was that. It was the way the character follows Holmes like a bouncy puppy when you're in first person mode. He kept running up after Holmes and dodging in front when I stopped, right in the way of whatever I was trying to look at. I wanted a rolled-up newspaper so bad. *smack!* Down, boy!! laugh

No, I wanted to slap Holmes for being so ruthlessly unaware of how his behavior affects Watson's medical practise. lol

Is the remastered game better than the original version? I can't wait to see if the swamp in New Orleans and the Scottish island gets both a graphics and engine upgrade. These two locations looked really ghastly in the original, and the swamp boat ride was particularly awful. I also hope that the remastered edition has kept the nice bits of the chase sequence.

From what I have read here, the 3rd person perspective seems to be poorly implemented?

It worked just fine for me Benedict smile
I played it through in 3rd person.

The graphic is awesome IMHO... then again, I only got to play for about an hour of the first version, since I got sick from it, so not sure if I can really compare smile
