Hi Kate,

Follow this step-by-step from MaG's walkthrough:

The aim of the puzzle is to get enough pressure to weld the pipes to fix the leak.

Increase gas pressure: See that the gauge read 50 on the top release nozzle.

Place the gauge on all other holes and see that the rest are all reading zero pressure.

Place the gauge back on top middle hole of the top horizontal pipe. Right click (red arrow) the wheel valve right of hole to bring the pressure down to zero.

We need to have all the flow to the small vertical pipe at the bottom.

Place the gauge on top right hole of the large right pipe. Left click (green arrow) the wheel valve above it to bring the pressure to 50.

Place the gauge on bottom right hole. Double check that it reads zero. If not turn - right click (red arrow) the valve to make it so.

Now the bottom middle vertical pipe is the only source of gas. Place the gauge on bottom middle hole of that vertical pipe. Double check that it reads 100. If not turn the valves to make it so.

Place the pipes from inventory on the empty spaces. Connect the tip of the blowtorch on the release nozzle that has 100 pressure reading - the bottom middle one.

luck

OK, I'll go back and try again. I have done all of the above things. I'm Ok till I get to the blowtorch, then nothing. I'll try again. If it doesn't work I'll be back. Thanks

If the gas reading on that pipe at bottom center is 100, click the blowtorch on it so that it will be attached there. luck

I just finished this spot and the Walkthrough worked great for me. So, take it slow and step by step and see if you might have missed anything.

It was kind of fun welding the pipes in place (after you finally get the torch lit). The graphics were pretty cool. smile

After my husband helped me and I carefully re read aloud MaG's walkthrough, I found out my problem. I wasn't right clicking and could not figure out why the faucets would not lower more than one time. Duh! The key word is "right click with the mouse." Now I am glad to say I finally finished this part of the puzzle.

EDIT.....................
Please can someone tell me what exactly I am to do to get into the house at Wharfdale? I don't have a clue what the below means.
tarred tarpaulin.

This word is included in MaG's walkthrough.

Open the front door: Look left from trolley. Go to the wall with wood and chains.

Use the knife to get a piece of tarred tarpaulin.

Go back to front door. Use tarred tarpaulin on the door lock. Enter the house.

Hi Sherryah,

Are you in the area with the broken cart that's missing a wheel? Turn left from that to see a wall with a load of wood and chains close to. Go there, and you'll see some tarpaulin. Cut the tarpaulin with the knife to obtain a small piece. Now use the tarpaulin piece on the crack of the front door between the frame & door itself, to slide the lock and open the door.

I am really enjoying the game. However I am stuck at the puzzle box with the female corpse in the room.

The first number is a 3. So I take the big moveable box and guide it by clicking on the blank squares around the yellow numbers. There are three 1's wouldn't I try and line up the big moveable box with the 3 1's? If so I can only reach two of the 1's the third 1 is not reachable by my moveable square. What do I do to be able to reach numbers that are not on the outside and easily reached by moveable box? None of the yellow numbers seem to move. Am I suppose to right click or something else? Thanks in advance for your help.

EDIT....................................
Solved the puzzle as soon as I asked for help. Thanks anyway. I found out all I needed is the outside number, after that is was elementary dear Watson. lol
