Good luck! I don't think it's a game-stopper if you're unable to find it, so just carry on playing and enjoying the game.

Hello, once again. I'm at the crime scene with Watson. I've examined the body, and noted the two incisions on her neck, the bruises on her face, the swollen tongue, blood, etc. and have also examined the bonnet, abdomen, wall, and muddy area, etc. In the inventory, I can't find any report, and some of Holmes' observations re: the body, don't show up on the page devoted to clues, etc. Where is the preliminary report that Holmes refers to?

You have more to do before you can do the deductions.
More evidence to check and do reenactment.

So look around and click on everything. When all evidence are collected, then Holmes will do reenactment.
It will automatically go to the next step if the previous steps are done.

Well believe it or believe it not I still havent found the old man. If go to one end of the street Holmes says he doesnt need/want to go that way. At the other end of the street I come to a bridge. Not sure which end he is supposed to be but I havent spotted him or heard his coughs either.

When you bring up the map click "Lucy's Lodging" and walk down the street (it's more like an alley) that faces her lodging and as you're walking you should start to hear the Captain coughing - just go to the end of that alley and he should be laying on the ground.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I think I've completed the deduction portion correctly. The boxes in both Screen 1 and Screen 2 are outlined in green, and the answers are correct. The WT says that the Motive portion takes place back at Baker St., but how do I get back there? It's not on the map, and Holmes and Watson are still at the crime scene.
Help!
Gillann

There are two map tabs across the top of the map screen - click the tab on the left for the general London area. Baker Street will appear at top left.

Hi Rushes, Apparently I have missed something, because Holmes isn't ready to leave the scene yet. The answers are correct, the boxes are lit up, so what could I have missed? Does Holmes say anything at the end of the deduction part?

Yes. He would say something.
So you missed something. Double check if you still have a down menu arrow on those squares.

Hi, MaG. What I seem to be missing is any comment, as shown in your WT, that the killer is right-handed, and a strong man. I've answered all of the questions correctly, Screens 1 and 2 are lit in green, but there it ends. Nothing about being right-handed, or strong. Where is that located? I can't go any further, and Holmes still isn't ready to go back to Baker St.

Have you played the re-enactment yet, where Holmes & Watson take on the roles of killer & victim? That should confirm that the killer is right-handed and strong. You may have missed examining something that leads to this re-enactment.

Hello Rushes. I missed something during the re-enactment. Did it over, voila! Back to Baker St. They've gone over the motive per the WT, but once again, nothing happens. They're wandering around the house....

I have solved the puzzle with the pigheads. I'm supposed to pick up the large knife and place it in the empty frame. But the knife will not be picked up!
I had some problems with the bottom knife in the puzzle itself, is this perhaps a glitch or am I doing something wrong?

gillann, did you correctly complete the motive? Holmes will confirm if you do, and the day will end. Check to make sure. smile

ingse, double check that you successfully completed all knife experiments - they should all be highlighted in green. If not, go back in and redo. You should then be able to select the correct knife. If you still have problems let us know.

I have tried again and again - the knife will not be picked up. Are the correct knives supposed to turn green? Mine does not.

There are green checks in the checkboxes, thats's all.

Ingse,

If you did an experiment correctly:
Holmes will say 'elementary' when you have selected the correct knives.
The check marks are already green when you selected them.
The title or label 'Experiment' above the pig's head will turn green and you cannot open that puzzle anymore.

So check which of those experiment are not green yet. When they are all green, then the knife at bottom can be picked up.

Thanks Mag.

He has not said anything, but I picked the correct knives according to your walkthru. I'll try again.

HI,I went back to re-check the motive part, but can't find it. How do I get back to it? Obviously, it wasn't completed correctly. Holmes is just wandering around, and there's no dialog. Thanks, everyone.

I think it is the board on the wall closest to his lab desk.
If not check all the board on the wall.

Many thanks for your help, Mag!

I made the mistake of resetting each time I tried a knife, but I finally got it right. Elementary!
