Which horror game should I play next? Sherlock the awakened, barrow hill, or lost crown? Also, which is the most scary out of the sherlock games? I have the awakened, nemesis and jack the ripper. Oh and one more thing, is there any scary game out there that rivals gabriel knight 2?

Thanks

Hi indyjonesfan smile And nice to meet you !!

And in answer to the most important of your questions :
"is there any scary game out there that rivals gabriel knight 2?"
I would say : "Is there a game of any kind out there that could rival a Gabriel Knight game ????" lol

Barrow Hill and Lost Crown are both nicely scary but quite different so why not toss a coin and then play both wink

"Sherlock The Awakened" is a favourite of mine - played twice - but I haven't finished Sherlock versus Jack the Ripper yet so I can't offer an opinion there. Not yet, anyway grin

But luck with whatever you choose to play next and come back and let us know how you got on thumbsup

Cheers.

Hi Indyjonesfan, and welcome to Gameboomers welcome
Agreed with Mad, both Barrow Hill and Lost Crown are great. There is a second Barrow Hill coming soon.
I have just finished Sherlock V Jack and didn't find is particularly scarey, more spooky-like mainly due to the atmosphere of London Streets, lots of dark places to wander into.
The scariest so far I have played is Scratches, really got my heart pumping in that cellar!! scared

I never thought of Sanitarium as "Creepy Icky."
It's certainly one of the more interesting games I've played, with every chapter featuring a different aspect of the guy's mind/memories.

Mystery of the Druids would be more "Creepy Icky" -- at least in one particular part of the game. I didn't find it terribly much of a "horror game" though -- not particularly scary anyway.

Phantasmagoria is a good and scary "oldie".

Certainly some pretty tense moments in it, for ME anyway !! eek

[I thought I had already posted something akin to this - so if I have and it appears somewhere else, just ignore it. I will have put it in the wrong place during a senior moment lol]

Thanks for the recommendations guys and gals! I think I'll also buy and play scratches and darkfall 1 and 2. I think you'll find this interesting about me: Curse of Monkey Island was one of the very first adventure games I've played and I'm so happy that Tales of Monkey Island is coming out soon. I love two types adventure games now. Horror games and funny games. Oh and I've purchased, but never played indiana jones and the fate of atlantis yet. Is it as good as last crusade? (I think that is the other game I need to buy) Yes, I'm quickly finding out I have baags. Thanks again,

indyjonesfan

If you can find and get it to play on your machine try Amber Journeys Beyond . I say get it to play because I played it a while ago on my old W95 and I don't know if it will run on WXP or Vista.

welcome to Gameboomers, indyjonesfan!

If you haven't played it yet, I strongly recommend Still Life. It is one of my favorite horror type games. There is also a Still Life 2 available for download. I haven't played it yet, as I am waiting for the boxed version, but I am sure others here would recommend it as well. smile

Unfortunately, I don't think very many games can rival Gabriel Knight 2 at all, but there are some excellent games out there nonetheless. grin Of course, Gray Matter is coming out (hopefully) this year or next. As it is also a Jane Jensen game, it may possibly be a contender. thumbsup

If you can find them - Phantasmagoria 1 & 2 had their moments. Scratches was a good play as well - there's a specific sequence in it that still raises the hair on the back of my neck scared
