221B Baker Street vs. Whitechapel. Flotsam explores the seedy streets of Victorian London as Sherlock Holmes tracks down the famous serial killer. Who next will face the knife?

Thank You , Flotsam

Your grade of B+ was very generous..

I was very disappointed with this game.....too much running here & there for nonsense.... The beginning was a complete bore smirk

This game was nothing like Awakening....The puzzles I dislike...

Not much of anything to say good about it...Actually I stopped playing after 3 hours...

I totally dislike wandering around talking too several people to advance in a game...

My opinion: duh

I have to agree with flotsam on this one. A thoroughly good game. An delicate balance of story and puzzles, a very usable user interface - though I surprised myself by finding the first person view preferable most of the time.

And, boy! am I glad modern British cities have moved on a little since the Victorian age!

Edit to add: I guess I ought to declare a bit of an interest in this one, as I was one of the beta testers, albeit mislabelled in the credits as being in the US wink

Very nicely balanced, intelligent review, thank you Flotsam.

I agree with most of what was said in the review.

I had personally found the ending of the game very good though, - it was a surprise that exceeded my expectations.

Thanks Becky, & to Flotsam for an excellent review! I will just say that I did use 1st person perspective more than I expected to but never used the keyboard - I just moved the mouse with the left button pressed! smile

From that am to understand that you have a choice between 1st and 3d person for this game? think

oldman, you can switch between the two as you wish throughout the game. You do not need to choose in the beginning and stick with one.

I've just started playing this too, so thank you for the review, flotsam! smile

I thought the beginning of this game was great and that it really set the ambience for the rest of the game, but then again I'm a Sherlock Holmes fan from my teenage years and I have also read a lot about Jack the Ripper. I'm looking forward to seeing what Frogwares has done with it all. broccoli

This is the best game I've played in ages and I've only just finished it. I LOVE all the sherlock games by frogwares, definitely my favourite games. Great puzzles, intelligent dialogue, beautiful victorian period graphics and such sinister atmosphere. Sherlock v Ripper gripped me from start to finish. bravo And sherlock's voice is so relaxing to listen to, definitely one of the best voice actors for games at the moment. It's also very hard to imagine the real actor actually looking any different from his ingame face. wave

And look at the credit given to gameboomers:
