Hi sierramindy, Try using the roots on the barrel marked "grog". Then use the breath mints on that lovely mixture. That'll get you started.

Thanks, Rushes, that did it. Now I'm on Flotsom Island, with Ninja figure (black with sword in hand) which I'm supposed to place somewhere so D'Oro can find it. Not a clue where that would be. I've been to Club 41 but the newspaper guy still won't tell me where to find Deep Gut (sheesh, I guess it's supposed to be a funny take-off) so I have to do something newsworthy again, but what? Those are the 2 things I'm trying to figure out right now, but maybe I should be doing something else first?

In the jungle I see a wishing well and I think that is where the map starts, but I can't find any animals, monkeys or bees which are on the map. I have come across a house, which Guybrush can't enter because he doesn't know the "word" and he can't sell the leather jacket unfortunately. I've also come across a calendar and an empty clamshell, and something ???? and an altar, but none of these have anything to do with the map that I can see. So looks like I need more help here.

Did you click the map on the well? You need to do that first.

I click the map on the well and it shakes but nothing else happens. Do I need to stand at a certain spot or something? I hear the animal sounds but I don't see any.

sierramindy, You do not see the animals or insects - you hear them - so raise the volume of the Fx but lower the music. Let's review this map, ok. At the crossroad, go to top road. See the well. Dip the map on the well. The earth shakes and the map glows. Take the right path. Hear snort of the boar and bells. Take a bomb from the ground. Guybrush takes all the bombs. Continue to the right. Hear chimps and bells. Take upper right path above the stone stand. Hear buzzing bees and bells. At the crossroad, take the bottom path and hear monkeys. At crossroad where D'Oro is playing dolls, go right. Hear snorts of the boar and bells. Take the upper left path. Hear bees and bells at crossroad with altar. Take the left path and hear chirping birds. Go forward and see a dug hole - X marks the spot. Place Dark Ninja Dave in the hole.

Thanks, MaG, I couldn't have done it without those directions and even then I had a hard time, you wouldn't believe it. Guybrush would go only so far and suddenly something went wrong and he was whisked straight back to the wishing well and I had to start over and over and finally I did the save/load trick so I didn't have to go clear back to the beginning. It was especially hard at the altar as I couldn't get him moving and when he stopped he was zipped back to the well. Luckily I had saved it just as he reached D'Oro by that time so I no longer had to start again, just loaded the game from there. Then suddenly I made it past somehow, not even sure how, but there was the hole in the sand and thanks to your hint help I knew what it was or I might have missed it. But when I clicked there was the X so I knew I had it made, finally. What a relief! Thanks again, and to you too, Rushes. It all helped and I'm really enjoying this game.

Recall the way the monkey is programmed. 1. You place a projected picture. 2. You feed the monkey. 3. The monkey studies the projected picture. 4. The monkey goes to that counterpart or real item of that projected picture. You have a skeleton. You have the X-ray of the hand (skeletal hand).

Back to the maze again, this time the start is at the altar. I seem to be able to get to the wishing well (Guybrush says "so far so good) and I place the flower above it and it shakes, and that's where I get stuck. Any direction from there and Guybrush goes back to the altar. I may have missed a step before the wishing well as I'm not sure what that triangle thingy with the 4 arrows on the map is, maybe a crossroads? I didn't see it on the way to the well or if I did, I didn't recognize it.

Never tried the parrot, didn't see the obvious, now! I did get the idol by the portal to blow some wind and now I'm at the idol with the missing top wheel. Tried putting the cheese wheel there and the weather vane on top and various combinations until I'm dizzy and no luck. Then when I saved to leave the game I read that there are 4 of these idol/wind machines, arrgh. I think I have seen a third one, but can't recall seeing four. However, as mixed up as my sense of direction is there could be any number out there, all looking mostly alike to me. I desperately need big help here or I'm done for. Please and thanks!

For all the idols; the steps needed to be done are: - place the weather vane on top. Then turn the wheel to get a face. Use the ancient tool on the clamshell right of the mysterious idol. One idol is complete - the first one. One idol is missing the middle. One is missing (I think) the top wheel. One you can't place the weather vane on top (got plugged). For the 2 that you are missing a part: the clues are the jail and the doctor's house. For going to other idols - no problem, you'll see 2 in the map, the first one is where you saw the big mwind machine. The last one: Go to jungle entrance. Take the upper left path to the altar. Go right from altar. They can be done (except the first) in any order.

Use the cheese wheel on the symbols at the jail house and see if that helps.

What a great game! I just now finished it and am so very glad I decided YES as my choice. I shudder when I think how close I came to passing this up. The screenshots turned me off, but as it turned out the graphics in the actual game itself were just fine, couldn't ask for any better. Thanks again, MaG and Rushes for your help just when I needed it and a very special thanks to Cathy1 for the cheese wheel hint as I never, ever would have thought to try that. I think that was the farthest out solution in the game, although when I first placed the wheel I tried turning it around but Guybrush always removed it because it didn't have the jail carvings so it was useless, but they never entered my head even though they were used to solve one of the other wind machines. I even knew I needed the pointy eyes because I could see them in the weather vane picture, just didn't know how to get them. Thanks, Cathy1. I'm glad you took the time to help me.
