Help-I'm at the start of the game. Jack is tied up. The w/t says to talk to either thug and insult them and when you do this you get punched. When I talk to the thugs nothing happens the only comment is "Apparently I still have a few debts to pay" and " He's only half as horrid as his boss" and Jack does not get punched so that the chair moves back. Is there something else I should be doing to get the thugs to hit Jack.

Does the chair move back when he gets hit?
If so - continue insulting until he reaches the knife on the floor.

When he gets hit the first time the chair does not move back.

Just keep on insulting them and they keep on slugging you
til you can reach the knife.

Help I have done everything and am now ready to set sail to tooth island. I used the anchor icon to get on the ship but all Jack says is "My pride and joy" Is there a certain place to click the anchor icon on as I have tried just about every place on the boat but it doesn't work.

Are you sure you have finished all that you need to do on this island? Mailed the package, bought items, have the agent aboard and talked to the 2 sailors...
If so, click that anchor on the ship and it should go.

Just checking in to see how you are doing with Jack Keane.

Thanks katbear for checking on how I am doing. However I am stuck again.I am acting as Jack-I have put my clothes back on-went to the gorilla room and took the gorilla statue and headache tablets and am now on the veranda. I took the gardners saw but I cannot locate the watering can which is suppose to be next to the bench. I have search all over by the bench but cannot locate it. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The veranda has the faucet on the left, at middle is the table they are eating on, then the door to the house and to the right is the bench.
In front of the bench is the watering can. It is colored pinkish purple.

I went back to my last save and re-did it and got the watering can. Now i'm off again.
