You're trying to place the parroy in the chest - if so - choose a dialogue that will make both of them look away; like look - there's a baby or look there's a 3 headed monkey.
Then immediately place the parrot inside the chest. luck

Don't quit. Try and then we'll see if we can get you working on sending that saved game with no problem.

I'm not fast enough to get the parrot in the chest before they catch me, so is there something I should do first for more time, like maybe something with the fallen logs?

Nothing that I can think of.

Click the correct dialogue.
Move the cursor to extreme right of screen to get the inventory out.
Take the parrot after remembering where it is located.
Click the screen to close the inventory screen.
Click it in the open chest. luck

I'm also trying to help LeChuck but he just keeps putting the claw thingie in the clamshell and then taking it back out saying he needs to fix it. Guybrush keeps saying something about needing some materials, I have no idea what they are. I have turned in 3 of the bait coupons so have red eggs, some green stuff in bowl, and a big pearl from the oyster in inventory.

I'm trying to do as much as I can even if I have to finally quit because I can't get the parrot in the chest. Playing Guybrush is such fun.

Hint for 'need some materials' - take a look at your ancient tool. What does it look like and what does LeChuck's tool missing.

Later - send me that saved game and let me see if I can play that chest part for you.

Hi there, Matey, I got the Golden Turtle with LeChuck's help after fixing the ancient tool. Yes, I took a longer and better look at it after your hint!

About the treasure chest, I get the parrot icon placed on it, but then Guybrush just walks past it and when he finally bends down to put the parrot in the chest they catch him. Maybe I'm not placing it on the right pixel?

I don't know how to send a saved game or use a saved game for that matter. Thanks for the offer, MaG, but I would rather just quit the game then try to learn how to go into my saved folders without messing up something important.

Yo ho ho! On the turtle.

Arrgh! Talk to the pirates, until they tell you what they are arguing about. They want to be the one to chose where to bury the chest. Let them go to bury the chest and then they come back. Then talk to them again and they will bring the chest back.
Do the dialogue 'look behind or look at'. You can do it. Maybe just not right time yet.

I've checked out all lines of dialogue several times. I even had one where they come back after hiding the chest and remark that the only way anyone would find it would be if it gave out a signal, which I thought was a hint to use the parrot at that time, but it didn't help any. I will keep on trying though as I'm not bored yet. Sometimes stubbornness takes over the curiosity factor!

I've also been to Roe Island and seen the fish in the deserted hut. Is this the Cranky Fish?

This is hard to believe, but I now know the secret to putting the parrot into the chest ... have done it twice! The first time I did it, I took the raft to Roe Island but didn't find the chest there. Went back to the 2 pirates and foolishly talked to them again and they brought the chest back and I had to do the parrot thing again. That was easy since I now know exactly what to do. The secret is in the dialogue, but not quite where one thinks it is. You have to get the 2 pirates to do the staring at each other and while they are staring at each other, you choose the distraction line and that gives one plenty of time to put the parrot in place! Easy, peasy!

However I'm stuck now as I don't know where to go or how to activate the parrot into talking so I can find the chest. I don't have a clue what to do. And after all that time trying to get that silly parrot into the chest. But it was worth it!

Okay, I found the treasure chest and have the Seahorse. But I still can't find anything to do on Roe Island.

Thanks for that tip on the chest.

The manatee has a hole at the center. One of your inventory fits in there. smile

I did that with the manatee and the locket way back. Now when I try it again, Guybrush does a dance as he listens to the music and the mouth opens, but can't do anything else. That I can see. I got the message about the joke book and the coupon in it has been exchanged for the green wormy bait. None of which helps so far. I keep exploring Spoon Isle and I think I will have to do something with the logs? Also a barbecue and a fishing well? No ideas come to me though.

You put me on the right track when you told me to ask what the pirates were arguing about and getting them to bury the chest again. I had done that many times at the beginning but after awhile I didn't see that it accomplished anything so I started to skip the dialogue except for the distration lines. But then I decided to go back and do that part again and about that time I thought, why does that line about starring at each other keep coming up when nothing happens, maybe it is important so maybe I should pay more attention here. And I did and that's when I suddenly saw the connection. Bon Voyage, indeed!

You use the bait to catch a fish. There's a fishing well at Spoon Isle...

You have a hook on your left arm...

Go fish..g

Wow, what a game!
Since the forum was down and I couldn't get here I went to the walkthrough and used it. As the game went on there was more action and I stayed with the walkthrough because I really needed a lot of help, even so I messed up and had to redo some things but I kept going all the way to the end ... and what a bang-up ending it was!
So once again I thank you very much for the hints and the great walkthrough, MaG, could never have finished the game otherwise!

Thank you for that chest solution, Mindy! I was pulling my hair out! That was the only part to trip me up in the first two episodes.
