I was trying to use the still - and need to "attach the pipe found on the beach." I don't have the pipe, so went back to the beach and it's not there either. I suspect the robber monkey took it. Is there some way to get things back from him?

Yes - you can jump on his nest after you distract him with a gift of paint. When his back is turned, (SAVE GAME) go left to end of cliff and jump to his nest at top of the palm tree.
Immediately, look down, open pouch and get tools and then jump back to ledge. He might catch you but if you have the tool - it's okay. If not go back to saved game.

If you're facing Leonard, the robber and painter, turn left.
Go forward to the end of the ledge.
Turn left and see a nest on top of a palm tree.
You have to jump to get there.
So be sure to save the game. Do this fast so that you don't lose time as well as get caught by Leonard.
