The solution is in the walkthrough.
Click on an item and wait - you'll see the arrow where it can go then click on it. Don't rush the movements or it will freeze.

Saved game on the way.

I am having trouble finding the saved games folder. I have not had this before. I read about how to find it, but I just cant. I go into the folder about this game, but dont see a saves folder. I am trying to add on a saved game that was sent to me.

Thanks for any help.

Whistler,

To see the saved game folder here:
C:\Documents and Settings\computer's name\Application Data\Games\sherlock holmes versus jack the ripper folder; you have to show 'hidden' folders.

To do that:
Open any folder.
Then click on 'Tools' tab at top of the frame.
Select 'folder options'.
Then "View' tab.
Scroll down and check 'show hidden files and folders.'
Click OK and then go to the saved game folder mentioned above.

Please use this thread for any questions about this game. Thanks. I combined your threads.

Back again!! I just bet it is very easy to find, but where do I place the ladder. I have read the WT and I click all around the window and Sherlock continues to tell me that is the only way out.

Help again please

Hi whistler,

The problem you're having might be that the ladder isn't yet fully assembled. Have you combined the ladder with nails, and then used the hammer on the ladder to fix the nails in place?

Sherlock vs Ripper
When trying to open the locked door at the police station the screen freezes. It happens just after the lock opens. I hear the lock and then it just freezes.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Whistler

I get a long video stall before the cutscene clicks in. Maybe you're not waiting long enough or play with the options for video. That might help.
Try again and see.

Well that worked. I had to wait a while, but it finally opened. I changed some of the video options, maybe that helped.

Thank you again

I purchased this game, so I have the CD. When I try to save the game, the save box stays blank. I don't want to exit out of the game or I think I will lose my progress. Any suggestions about what I should do?
Thank you,

Hi Oldgamer,

Are you making sure to double click on the save box?

Yes, I did double click on the box. I was able to save my game once about a week ago, but was unable to save it last night. I kept the game open so that I would not lose the progress. Would appreciate any other advice you might have.
Thank you.

Oldgamer,

Just to verify - You click on a blank frame on the 'save' page.
Then did you click on the 'yes' at top of the page?

Yes, I clicked on a blank frame on the 'save' page, then I clicked on the 'yes' at the top of the page, but the blank frame stays blank. I do hear the disc turning in the disc drive, but it stops and I still do not get a picture on the blank frame showing that the game has been saved. As I said, I was able to save my game about a week ago, but now nothing happens.
