I am in the cellar trying to put the stars in place. I have tried to get the egg and the cellar plan without success because nothing happens when I insert the stars. Any ideas please.

Do you have all 4 stars?
Have you read the missing book by Edgar Allan Poe: The Black Cat?
Have you placed the correct star in proper slot? Check what is illustrated on the star.

Yes I have all four stars and I have placed them on the slots as indicated in the walkthrough. I wonder if I have got out of sync with the times as when I first went to the cellar it was daylight and snowing. I have also re read the Black Cat book.

Check that you're placing the correct animal token with its appropriate indent. It's really tricky to tell which animal is which, looking at the tokens. Try swapping them around a little if you're unsure.

I have decided to go back to a previously saved game and see what this brings. Thanks for your suggestions.
