So I just bought this game, didn't realize how old it is and how hard it'd be to find discussions about it...

Anyway, at the beginning, down in the storage room of the museum, I can't figure out the "random" pattern for the light switches. The permutations will take hours and hours to do in any semblance of order. (Personally, I do not like puzzles without some kind of logic attached). Did anyone out there make a list of the patterns that have worked? I can't continue the game without doing this, and it's no longer fun frown
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi Laura,

See if THIS old thread helps you at all. MaG and a few others mention patterns which worked for them.

luck and let us know how you get on.

The best I've been able to get is 4/5, so I was able to get to the back storage area. Taking a break and will try again later.

thanks for all the help!!
(and if anyone posts another pattern that works, please let me know)

That's good.

The other two areas you need to light are bottom left and middle left. Maybe try flipping just one switch at a time, step back, and see which area has been affected. I found this method worked best for me, although I can't remember the specific patterns. smile

am working on the amphorae myself... missed that knife cue w/o your help (THX!!! :D)

anyway, used your walk through b/c I just couldn't get it, but the game just doesn't want me to get the big one first... keeps making all those silly comments... I've actually restarted the game from an earlier point (which is quite annoying, as I was only on day 4 the last time I had saved and there's A LOT to redo), since I had moved a few before I knew what to do and think the replacing them in different places may be messing it up? ugh I don't know,,, help please!!!

any pointers how to point properly?

Before you can pick up the target amphora, clear a path first by taking the blocking pots and moving-placing them aside.
Then take the target amphora and place it by the wall.
Do this for all the amphorae you need.

You can see the look of the amphorae you need and not just rely on the position where they were before.
