From the walkthrough:

Be sure that you have scuba gear, metal detector and shovel.

Sail SE of the island. See a broken circular coral reef. Enter the circle of rocks.

Save game here. Double check that the air tank is full - 100%.

Read El Toro's journal concerning the Caridad.

Dive down by clicking on the rope ladder left of boat.

Automatically be in scuba gear holding the metal detector.

At top of the screen, the blue line is the air tank amount and the red line is the pressure underwater. Watch those 2 lines.

See brain coral growing just beside the shipwreck.

Swim to bottom right until the shipwreck and then over the middle part of the deck.

Once the metal detector reads full bar, right click and automatically use the shovel.

See the chest with the insignia and name Caridad. Remember this spot.

Open the chest and look to study the lock.

MaG, I've deciphered the 3 pages, went to Johnny and I can't ask him to lend me his metal detector; the only thing I can say is I'm mistaken and that's it. Did I forget something that unlocks the question I have to ask him. I think I've follwed your wk properly. Thank you. Sali

Hi Sali,

Be sure to have read the book that's in the basket beside the sofa in the reception area back at the resort.

Thanks Rushes it did unlocked the question. Is it possible that if I went to the monkeies first before talking to Johnny it erased the fact that I read the book at the beginning of the game. Well maybe it's not important since I canplay with that monkey. Thanks a lot. Sali

I'm back again! trying to decode the rest of the journal, did get the battery from Johnny. But even if I click on the coded words to be decoded on the journal the new page with the paragraph that has the coded words doesn't appear. Did I miss something to do first? I'm still following MaG's wk. Thanks a lot one more time. Sali

Did you look close at the astrolabe?
You might have missed a letter or 2 or one of the 5 pages to be decided. Please check.

Hi chessy,

Do you have the metal detector and shovel, as MaG mentions above?
Also be sure to have read the journal page which mentions the Caridad.

The screenshot in MaG's post shows you the exact location.

Swim to bottom right until the shipwreck and then over the middle part of the deck.

Once the metal detector reads full bar, right click and automatically use the shovel.

The closest save game I have is after the chest is opened and Nancy is back on the boat. Would you like me to send you that?

MaG thank you for your answer. I checked the astrolabe and didn't do it twice as to see the numbers and the letters. Once I did that thanks to your answer I could continue the game. What could we do without you and all the ones who help us! Sali

My daughter is playing Junior version. She can't "go into the cave". She has found the one that registers 16, but it won't let her in. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
teach8

Hi teach8,

Be sure to line up the frequency with the line to the right of the dial, rather than the top of the unit.

Also make sure that the page of the journal which mentions the bats and their cave is fully decoded.

Read the bat display board back at the resort, if not already done so.

luck
