Just started it Darlene. Love the music and creepiness. Seems the cursor is a bit slow and has to be right on spot, but loving the game despite that. The movie isn't even out yet and I think I'll go see it now that I have the game.

I did the demo and it is really just an ok game for me. I am going to get it with the 30% off that Big Fish has going on thru Monday.

I was so looking forward to this game. I love the scary/creepy and the developers in my opinion could have done this a lot better. Have you read the comments over at BF?

I'm not liking very much the way they did the "tools" (inventory) there is no thinking to it for me. I like to figure things out for myself.

I have read that it is on the short side but for me it might not be. Some of the comments on other games that people get done in 1 1/2 to 2 hours usually take me at least 4 hours.

I would advise to do the demo and that will give you enough time to see if you will like it enough to buy.

Is anyone else stuck on picking up the glass of water in the office? I just keep clicking and nothing happens. Can't continue until I get it.

Shutter Island snuck up on me, too. Was released just yesterday. I've played the first hour and am relatively impressed. Music and story are spooky and the HOG scenes are average. Movie-tie-in games are typically suspect as to quality, but this looks better than average so far. I'm looking forward to a full review, and haven't yet sprung for the whole game, even for less than $5.00! Reviews on GameZebo and BFG forum are quite mixed. So far, I'd give it a B-, but we'll see...

I didn't have any problem picking up the glass of water. Are you clicking the right one?

I'm clicking on the one where the hint shows. Looks like it's slightly behind a 'castle'?

I played 1 hour and bought it with 30% discount. It seems a little different from the other IHOGs. The HO scenes are challenging but not impossible for my eyes. The gripping story will keep me glued to the game till the end.

I totally missed this one. Thanks for making the thread or I might have never even seen it. I bought it and I'm downloading now. I might even get to play it by the time the movie is finally released.

I just downloaded at Iwin and surprised your all talking about it on BF I should have waited for BF to try it out.

In my opinion if this game had voice overs it would have pushed an ordinary game to be a great game. I have not decided whether I want to buy it yet, there is more hidden object than interactive in my opinion. I need more interactive and puzzles. Maybe it will get better I played the entire demo time.

I love the story line though and that usually gets me to buy the game. Graphics seem to be clear also.

Several people on the Big Fish forums had the small problem with the glass of water, and one person said it was because what she thought was a glass of water actually wasn't, and that the glass of water was somewhere else in the scene. So, I'm mentioning this just in case this is the problem.

Did you try using a hint to show you where the glass of water is located?

I used the hint for the water glass about 10 times now. Clicked all over and under and in. Even deleted the game twice and all it's files and started over and I still get hung up on the glass. I think it's a glitch that will eventually be corrected, but I'm stuck now. I even updated my directX and all that good stuff, but I'm still locked on the glass. Sigh. I'll just have to play something else till they fix it.

According to BFG-Guy on the Big Fish Games forums, the developer of Shutter Island said that they "would not fix any of the PC issues" with the game.

So, if you continue to find yourself stuck there, I would definitely write to Customer Support, just in case there are no new builds of this game.

Well, that sort of puts me off buying it.

Same for me. I used the hint 10 times and still couldn't get the water. Oh well, guess I'll pass on this one frown

Sorry to hear that the hint didn't work for you exalthim2, I didn't have any problems with the glass issue in the game so far, I played the trial and then downloaded the full version at the discount price. I'm a happy gammer so far. luck I hope everyone gets their problems solved with the game.

I just finished the game, really liked it a lot, something different for a change from the usual HOGS. Now I have to wait forthe movie to come out.

I finished the game. It's really short and ended abruptly about in the middle of the story, as far as I remember from the book. I hope the movie will show more.

Hey Guys!
The original book is totally awesome!
I read it on a plane.

I have such fond memories of the book that I think I'll try the game.

But why would it be that only some people have trouble with the infamous water glass?

Just finished this today and WOW. The last scene made me go into a "mouth open" freeze. Couldn"t believe it. Mystery fans better play.

After trying the free demo, I decided to buy this game. I agree with those who said that the cursor is tricky and that gameplay is not very challenging. I did like the story and the graphics though. The question I have is, is there an alternative ending? It seemed that the game ended rather abruptly. I wish I hadn't spent the money for the full version. Didn't get very much more additional play beyond the free demo. Bottom line? This game had a lot of potential, but fell flat.
