Well----I wanted Ankh 3 so bad that I found Gamesgate & paid $14.95 to download the game!!!
Well it took almost 2hrs & said it was downloading. When I checked the disk after it finished--there was nothing on it!!
It seems I paid for it & now I have nothing. I said all along that this high & mighty DELL is not going to download the games. THey make the machines, but don't give you any instructions with it. Why can't they for five extra dollars, download me a copy or let someone sell me their copy. There are alot of games I can't get because my MEM is broke & this junk is to hard to understand. I hope that this downloading fad passes soon.
Very,very upset,
Jtiffin

Jtiffin -- I know, I know, new technology can be frustrating! I sometimes think that developers and engineers should hire their mothers as beta testers. If their mothers can't figure it out, then the process is too complicated.

I could transfer this thread over to the Glitches forum, where they'll probably have ideas to help. Or you could email Gamers Gate and see what they have to say.

Thanks Becky,
I kept fooling around with the download. I thought I had it. Then when I tried to start the game there was nothin on the disk. I put another disk in & some program did something to the disk so it would take the download.
Now I am waiting for them to e-mail me the code,so I can see if I actually have the game on disk. Are we allowed to put it on a disk?
Well, since I have been up all night, I will just have to wait until this evening to find out.
Goodnight,
Jtiffin

Jtiffin -- I don't usually download games to a disk -- I usually download to my computer's hard drive. I don't know if Gamers Gate is one of the places that allows downloads to disk - perhaps another gamer who uses the service will be able to tell us.

As far as the time it took on GamersGate to download, that is why I never use them. It always took too long to download and it seemed that you couldn't save the game to an external drive as you needed their downloader to do so. On other download sites, I would download to my computer and then be able to keep download files on my external but not at GamersGate. I gave up on them ages ago. Just my experience, others might have different ones.

Hope you can get a response from them...Jody

All my games are on external hard drive.

I download to main drive and then install to external hard drive. Then I delete the temporary internet download from the main drive.
I have done so for Gamers Gate with no problem.
