A while ago I posted in here asking for help with getting rid of s virus, Jenny100 and others replied to the thread.

Thankfully I am now rid of it and everything is fine. However in the last few days we have had 2 phonecalls from someone saying they heard we have a trojan on the pc and asking all sorts of questions about the age of the pc.

We just said everything was fine and then hung up the phone. The person calling said they knew we had a trojan through a message sent via the internet. This has worried me slightly as I am not sure how they could have got our phone number and last name. Especially because the only place someone could have seen the message is on this website.

Any thoughts?

No thoughts other than this is thoroughly creepy. Do you have caller ID in Manchester?

It's spring. My life is weeds.

Exactly. It was an unknown number, all there is to go on is that it was an American voice so we are assuming it was someone calling from there.

Must have cost a lot though because we are from Manchester, UK.

Re: message on the internet - The postings at GameBoomers are seen when one searches a key word. That is what the spiders does; collect info from sites.
So if you do a Google or a Bing or a MetaCrawler and enter a keyword; it will serach in their files for any informatiion that relates to that.

As for the phone call: It would not have come from here because - we do not know your name or your phone number.

One thought is if you also searched other sites for any other info about the virus and entered a site that could have taken some info during your search. How about your anti-virus program?
