If anyone can help.
I have been trying to the "Vanguard data cube" from the archive.
I have tried it 10-20 times but it just doesn't seem to work.
The code is 11,16,1, and 8.
I have carefully followed all the steps but it just doesn't work.
Can anyone help?

Yes that is the frustrating part I Have done all of that, very carefully numerous times.
The only thing I can think of is when I go to enter the code. You have to click numerous times (on the same key) before it accepts the code.
What should be 4 clicks is 8-10 clicks. I know it is an old program might you have a saved game past that point as I can't get out of the archives without the vanguard cube.

Hi Alan,
I don't have any saves, so I'm checking other sources for you. One site I use is down at the moment, but I'll keep checking back to it. Otherwise let's wait and see if anyone has a save they can send to get you past this point.

Believe it or not I did get past that point.
It took 2 days but I did get it. I just couldn't leave it alone.
The problem was....I would click each button until a light lit up. That was wrong.....
The correct thing was just click each button once and to forget about the light (on the left) lighting up. After 4 clicks the light (on the right) would lite and give me the data cube.
I wanted to thank you for your efforts. They are really appreciated.

So glad you got past your stuck point, Alan. Enjoy the rest of the game now.
