I just bought the game, and once unziped the folder, found the .exe file and installed it. I tried it out for a bit, and found the graphics very colorful.

I just finished Slip Space but I am not much into writing reviews for games. What I can tell you is that I loved it and hope that the game does well enough for this Indie Developer start another game as he is one of the rare people that has a talent for creating this type of game and the puzzles that go along with it. It was exactly what I needed to play in this time of less than challenging 3rd person games. I miss it already. Thank you Dan for bringing us this game and for showing us you talents.

For those curious about the game, check out Randy Sluganski, head honcho at JA+. He describes the game very well. See what he has to says about Slip Space: The Burma Shave Analogy Preview

Thanks, GreyFuss, for the link to the preview. It was very interesting to me, not so much for the game (Myst-clones are not for me) but for the 3 Burma-Shave examples. They actually weren't billboards, much too small, but there were 6 signs along the edge of the highway. I do remember seeing them and watching out for that 5th one that got the laugh. Of course, I was just a kid then so it didn't take much to make me laugh. I was happy because we were going away from Chicago to a very small town on the shore of Lake Superior in nothern Wisconsin. When I say "small" I mean the town was at a single crossroad with one gas station, one general store (had everything: food, clothes, hardware, etc.) and 2 taverns. Our house was within walking distance of the lake. We had electricity but no running water. There was an outhouse out back and water came from the town pump. I did my share of carrying those 2 water buckets! It was the month of August and I have great memories of those days.

Hi all,
I know it's been a long long time I haven't Logged into this wonderful forum but nevertheless I still visit often and it is thanks to this forum that you got me interested in the Slip Space. Just wanted to let you know that I purchased the game yesterday via Pay Pal and had no problems whatsoever downloading it and had zero problems installing it.
I have played it for about 20 minutes so far and it looks absolutely great. Kudos to Slip Space for making such a great game.
One last comment, I wrote to S.S. to request the hints and he responded almost immediately, I received the hints within hours of my request, talk about service.

Again, thanks to all the forum members and moderators for maintaining such a Great place to visit.

Playing the demo...just my kind of game. Mark me down as one who loves the Myst/Rhem genre. Noticed something a little unusual-- when clicking the side view, I expected something like: right side, back, left side, and front view; in other words, each click of the side arrow would turn you 90 degress. In slip-space, often there are more than four views available. Great game! Lets see if I can get PayPal to work...

Robert Washburne has posted a review of my game at Just Adventure. It is positive but contains enough info to help gamers determine whether or not it is their kind of game. I've been saying all along that if you like Rhem, you'll like this game.

Slip Space: The Burma Shave Analogy is a new game that hasn't had much publicity since its release maybe due to this being a one man Indie operation (development and publishing) I don't know why as this game is a little known gem.

If you liked the Rhem games - Then you will like Slip Space
If you liked the Mysterious Journey games - Then you will like Slip Space
If you liked games like Drowned God, The Dark Eye and the like - Then you will like Slip Space
If you like first person, point & click, solo exploration games - Then you will like Slip Space
If you like puzzles that are seamlessly built into the landscape - Then you will like Slip Space
If you like a fresh, new & imaginative story line - Then you will like Slip Space
If you like new Indie Developers with tons of talent - Then you will love Slip Space
If you like games where you use your own brain and not be led around by the hand (like many of the new releases) - Then you will like Slip Space

When I finished Slip Space I wanted more. For his first game this Indie Developer hit the nail on the head. But don't take my word for it...check out This New Review over at JA+. I have my fingers crossed that this game will be successful enough for this developer to put his ideas into another game.

I would encourage those who are hesitant to download because of previous download issues, to go ahead and give this a shot-- you wont be sorry. Dan, the game designer/marketer/distributor will give you assistance at every step of the way, and knows how to overcome virtually any glitch in the download process. I was leery at first but Im now fully immersed in this visually stunning adventure. Dont expect a walk in the park...these puzzles are challenging. How challenging? Well, I'll let you know when I solve the first one!

Just a reminder: the game is on sale for $19.99 through May 31 .
A recurring theme to the feedback I've received is that the puzzles are challenging yet rewarding. When I designed them I didn't try to make them hard. In fact, I was a bit worried that they might be too easy. It was impossible for me to exactly replicate the experience of the gamer since I, as the designer, always knew the solution. However, I tried to imagine the gamers cognitive experience and make sure that the clues and setup to the puzzles were fair. Upon reviewning the feed back, I think I got it mostly right.

I'm about 3/4 through the game and I'd say that the puzzles are very fair. Some are quite whimsical. I'm really appreciating the humor in this game. It reminds me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Chaos a Fantasy Adventure

In a perfect world, atleast in one perfect from the perspective of my self interest, my game would receive nothing but good reviews. About a month ago I got a very positive review from JustAdventure.com. Today, I got a rather brutal one from AdventureGamers.com.
The reviewer's slight positive reaction to the game was consistent to other feedback I've received in that she acknowledged that the puzzles were plentiful and challenging.
However, her enjoyment of the game would have been greatly improved had she used a hint-through. (One is available on JustAdventure.com by the way) But where she really suffered is in her ability to understand the story. In this regard she really missed it. I imagine it was painful for her. She concludes that "slipstreams" have something to do with worm holes. I have no clue where she got that from. I make no reference to slipstreams or worm holes. In fact I explain the Burma-Shave Analogy on my website (and of course it is a part of the game as are all story elements) and that concept never even got close to being covered in her review.
I'm not saying her reaction to the game is illegitimate. I just wish she would have made an effort to get the story right.
Nevertheless, I appreciate that AdventureGamers took the time to do a review and would be perfectly happy for anyone to check it out.

Hi Slip Space -- the community is extremely happy that you have brought us an unusual game -- games with lots of puzzles are infrequent these days, so those gamers who like that type of adventure game are very grateful!

In my experience (and generally speaking), the more puzzle-intense a game is, and the harder those puzzles are, the more difficult it is to take in and understand the narrative. If I'm thinking all the time about the puzzles, I'm unlikely to be thinking as deeply about the story.

In that situation, if the game has drawn me in sufficiently, I might play the game a second time to understand the story better, though (frankly) that's less likely if the puzzles are frequent and difficult.

Not everyone is going to read everything on a game's website. I think that anything essential to the story should be in game, not just on the website.
