I've been using the Dell keyboard that came with my new computer when I bought it in January. Well, try as I might, I can't get used to it.
It lays pretty flat and the keys have no indentations so your fingers tend to slip from key to key. I touch-type, so I need something that has somewhat of a "feel" to it; this just is not cutting it for me.

I do NOT want wireless, nor fancy bells and whistles. I also don't want to spend more than $25 or so for it (I've found over the years that simple, inexpensive keyboards usually work just fine.) I'm just starting my search but have found a Logitech K120 in Staples.
Any feelings pro or con?

I'm not sure I want the keyboards that are curved and "good" for me; I learned to type many, many years ago on a standard keyboard with is just fine for me. Besides, I use the "standard" keyboards at work and on my second computer; I'd rather stick with that style.
Thanks, anyhow.

Go to a Staples or Best Buy and see what types of keyboards they have. There should be some on display that you can try out. The main thing is what feels good to you to type on.

I have a Logitech on my older pc and a Saitek Eclipse II on my new(er) one. I totally prefer the Saitek. It is more spendy but not horrible being in the fifty dollar range. It has little legs on the back so it is tilted up and away from you and a wrist-rest that pulls out of the front. I learned to type on a standard typewriter too so I do know what you are talking about. It is also lighted up which I have found to be very convenient in the evenings with lower lights on in same room. I really like this keyboard a lot. Oh, and the keys are slightly indented.

EDIT: I just found one on Amazon for $44.59, shipping not included, fyi... wave

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

I do like the option of back lights on the keyboard- really helps since I play at night

I hate those so-called "ergonomic" keyboards too, Mary. They can call them natural until the cows come home, but they're not! When I rest my hands in the "home" position, this Wave keyboard is perfection. I'd also recommend going to a store that sells lots of them and try them out to see which one feels the best to you.

I had to use an "ergonomic" keyboard at work for a period of time while having the standard keyboards for my own computers at home. What a nightmare! My fingers were flying across the keys as usual; too bad they were all the wrong keys! I was so frustrated that the air was blue with certain words and phrases that should never be said by "ladies", especially those employed by a Church! blush
I did get used to it after a while, but went right back to the standard keyboards when given the opportunity!
