You can touch a metal part of the interior of the case to disperse static buildup. You may want to touch the metal part of the case periodically while you're installing the card, depending on how long you take, how dry the air is, whether you're sitting on a rug, whether the clothing you're wearing has a tendency to generate static, etc.

I can do that. Can't you just see a roomfull of computer repair people like that. :-)))

Got the video card. I had to take my computer to the repair guy. The card is huge!! I needed a bigger power supply too. I now have a 750 watt power supply. 450 watts wouldn't run it. I have windows 7 too. I'm not real sure about that yet.
