Just to chime in here... smile Having played Redemption Cemetery, I would say to choose that one if you feel like playing a game that is more heavy on the adventure-game aspect of things than the HOG aspect. There is much more inventory finding and deciding where to use items in Redemption than there are HOG screens.

Enlightenus isn't a traditional HOG either, but there are lots of object screens, the difference being that you are figuring out where to place items rather than spotting hidden objects.

Maybe that will help you to decide.

Be forewarned: Buying the Collector's Edition can be dangerous to your bank account, but having that built-in Strategy Guide can lead to wanting more of the same. At least, that is what happened to me because it adds so much more enjoyment to playing the game! Example: I have already bought 2 CE games this month and planning on getting more of the ones coming along. Until I bought my first CE game by accident, mind you, I was willing to wait for the regular game and a Blog Walkthrough. All that has dramatically changed for me. Now I tell myself that I am helping the developers make better games since I'm willing to pay more, just hope that is true!

Thanks, Marian. That does help some. Sometimes it's a matter of what kind of mood I'm in. Not always interested so much in the challenge as just filling time.

sierra: Thanks for the "warning". lol

Well, I just bought the Enlightenus 2 Collector's Edition, so I'll be trying this out as my first one. Wish me luck. grin

Well, "Enlightenus II" is officially my first CE purchase. grin

I'm having the same problem though with the game running after I've exited. I know I can shut it down using my task manager, but I shouldn't have to do that. frown I've never had this happen with any other BFG downloads. Is this something that's more common with CE's?

Congratulations on your purchase. smile

I've never had a problem with a CE like the one you described. If I find any info on this, I will let you know. Are you making sure you shut down any antivirus programs before you run the game?

Sparkle -- Congrats on your first! wave I'm not having the problem you described -- I don't think it has anything to do with a CE, though I don't know for sure of course!

Since Enlighteness the original one is one of my favorite games I played and won I couldn't resist buying the sequel. It is just as much fun and the graphics are better than the original one. Highly recommend the game. Fast refill on hints, and puzzles can be skipped although so far I haven't had to do that.

Edit...............
Sorry Sparkle to hear your having trouble exiting the game, I have to agree with Becky I am not having that problem. I have had it in the past with other games though and it is frustrating but not with CE games from BFG.

Thanks to all who replied to my problem. I've never had to shut down anti-virus to run any BFG games. I'll check with BFG on Monday to see what they have to say.

I always shut down my antivirus before running any games on my computer, as it can interfere with things running properly. I'm not saying that's the problem; I'm just saying that it's always a good idea to close any unnecessary programs that are running in the background before starting up a game. smile

I hope Customer Support can diagnose the problem for you. Let us know how it goes. smile

Thanks, Marian. My husband's a retired IT professional and he said I shouldn't have to shut down antivirus. I do make sure I don't have any other programs running though. Thanks again. I appreciate your responses. Hope Customer Support has a simple answer. I'll be sure to let them know about your suggestions.

You're lucky to have a retired IT professional in your house. thumbsup

Sorry the Echoes of the Past regular edition hasn't shown up yet. Sometimes things that are announced in the Big Fish previews don't show up when they are supposed to, as there has been a scheduling change for some reason.

Well, this is definitely the last CE I'll be buying. Didn't need the Strategy Guide. It's not that difficult to figure out what to do. I quickly gave up on looking for the "E" blocks. Most of the ones I found were as a result of accidently clicking on them when looking for something else. Don't get me wrong. This is a great game overall. I especially liked the twist of placing items in the scenes rather than looking for them. I'd definitely recommend this game at the regular $6.99 price. Just not worth paying for the CE. JMO

Was the extra game play worthwhile? Bought the CE for Echoes of Shadows and the extra play is worth it for me.

Never resist a generous impulse.

Well, the cost of two standard versions comes to about $14.00. In other words, a CE with a bonus game costs more than two standard games. So to me, this CE was definitely not worth the money. But I'm one who tries to be as frugal as I can with my gaming bucks.

imho you made a great choice. I really like this because it's different in "matching hidden objects. A little more challenging. Have fun!

Just a quick update on the problem I was having with game not shutting down. Contacted BFG and did a Dr. Felix diagnostic. Nothing wrong with my computer - everything up-to-date and capable of running the game. BFG has no answer or remedy, but gave me a game credit for my trouble. This is really the first time I've had a technical issue with a BFG game. Considering the number of games I've downloaded over the past year or so, I still have complete confidence in BFG.

I know the regular came out but just bought the CE version. I am a sucker for the extra challenge of having to find extra bonus items and couldn't tell if the regular version had the E cards. I played the first Enlightenus and really liked it.

I am really enjoying this. I really like the the different idea of placing items in the correct place. This is a pretty challenging game.
