i have a question is there a patch for the downloaded version of this game when i get into the old building some objects are black but ican read all the books and all the cabinets and desk are there. thanks dianne

No patch for the downloaded version.
Objects being black is usually a video card issue. You could try reducing visual effects in the game options.

What video card are you using? You might try checking for newer drivers.

Hi everybody,
I downloaded the Dark Lineage Demo AND the patch. I understand that the patch can only be used for the full version of the game. When I "click" on the icon for the demo, NOTHING happens, not even an error message of any kind. Is there anything I can do to get the DEMO version to run? Any help would be appreciated.

Where did you get the demo?
Are you sure your download wasn't corrupted?
What operating system are you using. If you have Vista or Win7, you might have to run the demo as administrator.
Also make sure your video card is capable of shader 3.0.

I downloaded the demo from GAMERSHELL.COM. I don't get any error message about a corrupted file, as a matter of fact I don't get any error message at all. It just doesn't start. I have WIN XP. As far as I know, my vdeo card is NOT capable of shader 3.0. Bearing this in mind, is it possible that if the PATCH would be installed when playing the FULL VERSION of the game, might not the game possibly work? WHEW!. Thanks for your input so far.

If your video card isn't capable of shader 3, the game probably won't run. That may be why the demo isn't starting for you.

If you can find your video card listed here
http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php

look where it says PS/VS Version:
and that should list your shader number.
PS/VS = Pixel Shader/Vertex Shader.

OK, Jenny, I looked up my card and the PS/VS is 2.0. So you have helped me to understand as to why my game demo won't even start. I am just stubborn enough to consider buying and downloading the full version. As "they" say: "Easy come, Easy go." LOL I thank you so much for sticking with me on this issue. If I DO purchase the full version of the game, I will notify you of the "result", whether or not it's positive or negative.

thank you everyone for the help but i dont know how to download patches or how to apply the fix for this game knowing me icould mess it all up so i think its best to just purchase the disk verson. thankyou dianne

There is no guarantee that the disc version will not need a patch also. Just a heads up.
