I agree as well. I finished the game yesterday and thought it was an absolute delight from start to finish.

Reading all the positive comments I just can't wait to get on and play! I've got it all installed and ready but have to wait as I've got a lot of other pressing things to do first frown

Altho I am basically a casual game player now, I used to play lots of adventure games. I just finished the new Nancy Drew game, Shadow At The Water's Edge.

I don't know if this game has any similarities to the book but I thoroughly enjoyed that book and I am now downloading the demo for Lost Horizon and looking forward to it based on the comments here at Gameboomers.

Magwitch,
How would you rate it on a scale of 1-10? I have heard nothing but good reports about the game and I am so looking forward to playing it as soon as a once played game becomed available for sale/trade. I have a game list of KEEPERS and I have a feeling that once I've played this one will go on that list.

Hi Lexxy,

I'd give it a 9, I'd say (10 being reserved for only one or two of my all-time favourites). I'm actually very fussy about adventure games, but this one is most definitely a keeper.

Sorry if you think I was being negative Mad. I do realise that what I like or dislike may be different to others but it was based on what I've read in threads like this.
I did start a thread on this game awhile ago praising it as one of the best games I have played for some time. It has everything I want in a game, a brillent story line that makes sense, lovely graphics, good logical puzzles and it lasts for ages.
Plus some humour. One small detail that I found very helpful was the mouse shaped cursor, with the left and right hand buttons that showed green if you could interact with an object or person. That made checking objects in the invantory much easier. Nearly forgot I do like having a hot spot check that often keep me moving when I was stuck.

Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

Hi old lady smile

Of course we all have our likes and dislikes - what would the world be like if we were all the same ?? lol

But a long list comprising only "don't likes" would be a bit off putting to me, if as a developer (I wish !!) I popped in to view opinions grin

Cheers.

GBC? is there a digital download of the full game or just the demo?

Thanks

Thanks Rushes..already did DL from Amazon..is also available there.

I cannot begin to tell you guys how much I am enjoying this game. Great story, graphics, intelligent dialogue and the interplay with Kim and Fenton is classic.

Its almost like an interactive movie...somewhat like the Gabriel Knight 2 and early Tex Murphy series.

Loving it.

I love it too. After I've started/finished my replay selection for Halloween, I'll be giving this one another run through for sure.

I am on the horns of a dilemma...

I like the game so much I can't stop playing but I know if I don't stop, it will end and I don't want it to end!!

LOL

Ah, surprise and disappointment (not really) would have liked to see more at the end...like seeing Fenton and Kim make it back home.

Nevertheless its one great game..a bit complicated in Shambala with the switching but I had a decent walkthrough to follow at that point.

Has anyone played the prototype version in the bonus section?

EDIT: Maybe someone knows this ~ In Lost Horizon when Fenton is in Chen's club, the singer walks in and Fenton makes a wager with Chen about being able to seduce her...

Is there any dialogue to follow to get her to agree? I remember seeing a cutscene somewhere that has the singer slinking away from the camera with a knife behind her back..

Can't seem to get that to happen in the game.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a box copy of Lost Horizon other than Interact? I know I can download it but that is an option I don't want to use. I had high hopes of purchasing one from A Boomer who had completed it but it appears that is not going to happen.

There is nothing wrong with Interact at all please don't get me wrong. Dave is #1 in my books it's just the last time I checked the site I found it was out of stock and for some reason I can not get the site back up on my computer. I click on the banner at the top of the Boomer page and all I get is "the page can not be displayed" or something similar. I buy all of my games from Dave when I don't trade.

It looks like Dave has it back in stock now. A few weeks ago I had trouble getting into his site when no one else did. It lasted a few days and then went away Have you tried the direct link HERE?

Becuse of all the favorable comments about this game in this thread, I just ordered Lost Horizon and Rhem 4 from Interact. I know I could have saved some money by downloading them, I still prefer to have the actual CD or DVD so I can play them, uninstall them and replay them again at a later date. Can't wait to get them.
