Does anyone know how to resize the mini world map?
For some of my alts, it's way too big

Missilo, no help from me I'm afraid. I've clicked the button to allow you to move the mini map, but that has never worked. Unless you are talking about the little arrow in the right hand corner of the map???

I've only pre-ordered the CE hard copies. Is is releasing in Europe at the same time it releases in the US? Perhaps that is the reason you can't order?

I think Andrea has pre-ordered and I'm sure she'll stop in...so she might have an answer for you.

My task today is to see if I can get by without using Bartender. Every since the patch dropped, I've had loading screens in excess of 3 minutes and lots of DC's. Son recommended not using add-ons till Feb 2011 as in his experience with Lich King was that it took awhile before the expansion played nicely with all the adds....even when they were updated.

Try deleting the Cache, WTF folder - there's TONS of post on the Blizzard forums about long loading times etc. since the patch.

As for the Pre-Order - it's not the EU release I'm interested in, since I play on a US server
I think it has something to do with the cata pre-order not allowing international cards, where the billing address doesn't match the account address.
Sucks big time, since it works for everything else on blizzard

I saw a post at Joystiq this morning reporting folks getting an error message when trying to pre-order Cata downloads. So maybe give it a day or so and try again?

Yes I pre-ordered the digital Cata download. I worked properly for me, thank goodness, and did update when I signed in the next day. It was a loooonnnngggg download.
I had noticed 2 bugs that had to do with my Herbalism profession not letting me gather herbs, and another on my Druid being stuck in an instance after it ended if I was shape shifted. It would say I was dead, and wouldn't let me leave until I went back to normal form.
I think they fixed those yesterday.
Got my gaming laptop back better than new! I missed my Asus RoG machine so much! It needed a new keyboard. I broke the spacebar jumping all over WoW! LOL!

As for the Pre-Order - yes it works for my EU account, no problem there.
But hey - I have it pre-ordered through InterAct, so guess I'll just wait for him to send me the key and THEN download, lol.

Regarding resizing the Mini WorldMap - no takers yet?
I'm asking because I seem to recall I could change the size at one point, but simply can't remember where and how or if it was an addon.

BIG EDIT:
Seems if you don't want to pre-order the digital download or can't and have to wait to download the files for Cata on release, you can edit a few files and download already now.
Of course we can't play just yet, but at least we don't have to be bothered with long download times, because of everybody downloading the same time

Steps to perform:
1 - Go into your WTF folder
2 - Backup the config.WTF + launcher.WTF (copy them to a safe place)
3 - Open each of them with Notepad (make sure NOT to have it open these files as default)
4 - In launcher.WTF look on the first line for SET accounttype "LK" and change LK to CT
5 - In config.WTF look around line 19 for SET accounttype "LK" and change LK to CT
6 - Save the file and open the launcher - you should then see it start downloading a file around 3-400MB

You should now be able to just add your CD Key to game manager in battlenet (when we get it) and start playing the minute the clock strikes 1 minute past midnight of the 7th.

I did the quests from SW but don't know what Tipping the Rifts is. Can you clue me in?

It's kind of a pain right now because the spawns are spread apart, but I read that the time between spawns will be decreasing.

I'm a little confused as to where we can find them.
And since I'm NOT lvl 80 - will I be able to get the Achievement?

Andrea, no time frame has been given.

Misslilo, every level can do this. If you scroll down the link above, there are known locations for each type (you need a fire, water, wind, earth buff) in all of Azeroth and also Outland and Northrend.

This achievement is available to every level player, as long as you can travel a bit. To get it, you can destroy the rifts at any level. But, if you want to do the daily associated with it, you have to destroy elementals (to close the rifts) that are level appropriate.

I have read that as Cata gets closer the elementals will spawn more often, but as we are moving into a busy time for me, I wanted to get it done.

Just to let you all know, I have pre-ordered Cata online for my US account - finally.

Was very simple - all I had to do was email the fraud department on blizzard, and tell them to clear the battlenet account, because of the problem with paying.

A day later I get an email it's done and voila!

Of course I'm still getting the order from InterAct - nice to have it on disk too

Gave in and ordered the CE from Game Stop. They include a package of collector's cards with it. The only cards I've ever collected were baseball cards back when the local team won the world series. I wanted all the 'stuff' and the collectible in-game pet. It's supposed to ship on the 7th. I'm glad I got the digital copy, though so I don't have to wait on pins and needles for it to come.
This is like learning a whole new game, so much has changed.

Yes it is....most of poor toons are in limbo....haven't retalented them. I'm trying to learn one toon at a time.

I'm sure we will be walking the floor til our copies arrive. I won't want to install until all 3 of us in the house have their copies, so I'm hoping they all come in on the same day.

I was surprised when I couldn't just buy all my copies from the same place.

For some reason I have been doing them on all my characters, so I know them by heart now, lol

And a question.
Who knows of a great place to get the achievement "Fall 65 yards"?
I got it on my main toon, but can't remember where I did it, lol.
All I know is, that I wasn't even that high lvl, when I did it.

I don't remember where I did it either! LOL! It was totally by accident as I recall. Fell off of something during a fight and survived I think. I was so totally amazed to see the achievement instead of death. Might have been in 1000 Needles. Good luck!

I was just thinking... what would happen, if we stand in the middle of an area, that are totally destroyed when Cata hits?
Will we still stand there or be transfered to some other place?

Misslilo, I tried to do the WTF and launcher changes but although I can find "set account type" in the laucher it is missing in the config. Anyone else have the problem?

It was so much fun to be in the middle of the battles, but died like a million times of course, lol.
