I'm in Chapter 2. In the library. The w/t says to choose 3 good comments and 3 bad comments about the ID card. I choose 3 bad and go to good and this takes away one of the other comments. I can't get past this point. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

One wt states:
Talk to Helena sitting at front table. Learn that she has 2 IDs because the first one is hideous.
Helena shows both ID.
Select 3 bad comments for Helena's old ID card.
Select 3 good comments for Helena's new ID card. Helena takes the cards and sits down.

MaG: That's what I tried to do. When I select three comments from bad card, then go to good card, the bad card comments are unhighlighted, so I can't make six comments. When I then try to do a magic trick, Sam doesn't say anything when I try to choose the trick.

Hi Laurette,

The "ugly" ID card is the one on the right. For that one, choose the 3 comments relating to drugs, paper bag, and nose. Helena comments.

For the "good" card on the left, choose the 3 comments which mention good picture, top model and 'much better'. Helena comments.

That should do it. luck

I'm now in David's private lab. Have read letter and looked at book. w/t says to change 27 to 39 to 00, which I did. Didn't work. Also changed the first one "0". Still didn't work. Help, please! Thanks.

Double check that your panel looks like this:

The first one - the zero should be 99

It looks like the zero is set to 99 and 39 is %. I guess I misunderstood the instructions. Is that correct? The picture in the w/t is different.

I'll try the above. Thank you.

luck That picture is from the wt. wink

39 should be 00. It was taken before it disappeared.

From wt:
Change the numbers by clicking on the arrows at either side of frame to turn the wheel.

0 should be 99.

#1 to 26 are not to be changed - as is %.

#27 to 39 are to be changed to 00 (click the left top arrow once). It seems to be correct.

In far view, click the red button at right side of the machine.

Click on the machine to verify that it is correctly set.

I obviously missed the part where I needed to set "0" to 99. When I did, it worked. Thanks.

I'm now at the end of Chapter 3. David finds out about the car that hit them. The w/t then says, "The next night's experiment..."

This doesn't tell me what to do next. Help!

Thanks.

So what you mean is that the automatic cutscene (Next night experiment...) does not happen after "David finds out about the car that hit them."

In that case - check again that all subchapters are 100%.
Check the map if there is still a location that is not finished. luck

MaG: I looked at a video w/t and saw that David had to make two comments after the scanner. I only made one. So, I'll do what you said and, if that doesn't work, just start from a saved game.

Thanks.

Well, I went back and did the tank and picture and phone call. The only thing on the map is the mansion. The game says I am 96% through. I don't know what else to do. Very frustrating.

I looked at a w/t again, and they mention a "cottage" photo. However, in my game, there is no such photo. Do you think if I completely replay the game, I'll get this photo, or could I get a save at beginning of Chapter 4? Thank you everyone.

Which subchapter is not finished - is it Memories of a Summer's Night? If so go back to a saved game at start of doing that part and check the walkthrough as you go. luck

Are the other subchapters 100%?

Lily has saved games here.

Hey Laurette,

I had almost the identical problem you did. After replaying this chapter 2 times, I realized there was something in the private lab I failed to do.. . In my case the cursor didn't change in anyway to let me know that it was a "hot spot". Did you get the IM from Laura?

MaG: Chapter 3 is only 96% finished. I started over from a saved game. Does that mean you can progress to another chapter even though it's not 100%? I have been referring to several w/t's. I did replay Chapter 3 and still only 96% complete. Plus, I don't get the "cottage" photo as shown in a video w/t. Thanks, MaG.

golly_woggle: I went back to private lab and looked at the letters (IM?) and then the game progressed. Thank you.

Am now at card game with proctor. I never play cards (except a few computer ones). Is there a trick to winning or an "out" of this? I keep losing. Thanks.

Yes, there's a trick to it.

To start with:
- If there are an even number of cards on the table, select that the proctor should start.
- If there are an odd number of cards on the table, select that Sam starts.

Then you need to select a prediction card of your own, which is placed in the envelope at bottom right.

Whoever goes first, two cards are selected and slanted. If it is Sam who goes first -- select any two cards OTHER THAN the prediction card you placed in the envelope.

If one of the cards the proctor chooses is the card you selected for the envelope, then click on the OTHER slanted card. You need to keep that predicted card in the game!

Just keep the predicted card unclicked and in the game up until the end -- it needs to be the last one remaining.

luck
