Robert, let us know if there's a solution short of playing the entire game over again. Wouldn't it be nice to just reinstall the game and have the poison can reappear at the exact place we left off? lol

Hmm...this is the 2nd game i have heard of that has objects turning up missing--the other is Lost in Time:looking glass i believe. And just yesterday i had to restart a game (Dark Dimensions) because when i went back to play an item in a puzzle i was going to do disappeared from the puzzle and the HO scene where it was originally found was 'solved' and no longer available. Something a bit odd..several games at one time with objects that were there now are not..i'm just saying...kinda odd.

I chatted with BFG yesterday and they recommended to uninstall/reinstall the game and felt the new release on May 14th might fix the problem. I did what they suggested but I was still missing the rose poison to rescue one more person.

I decided to start the game over with a new profile because one person on the BFG forum did that and was able to get by the rose poison problem.

BFG did give me a credit for another game because of the problem but I would have preferred a fix to the game so I wouldn't have to start over.

I know this doesn't help much and I'll post again if I'm able to get past the rose poison point in the game.

Robert

I am now at the point where I picked up the rose poison spray can.

Does anyone know where the saved game is located?

I don't know if it would help but just in case I have the same problem - losing the can too early - I'd like to save the game in a different folder.

Also, if other people have had a similar problem I might be able to send them the saved game (if it works this time.)

Thanks,

Robert

I'm running Windows XP, and for me the Raincliff folder is on the c: drive under Program Files. Not sure if the save game file is located there as well; I'll have to take a look.

The saves are located under C:/Documents and settings/ whatever name you call your computer/Application data/the name of the developer..

Thanks for the info but I guess I should have mentioned I have Windows 7 because I don't see the folder mentioned.

I had planned to buy this game but now I am not sure. I would hate to get to the end only to find out I can't finish.

Ana,

Is there any way to know where the saved game is in Windows 7?

Thanks,

Robert

Edit: I just found out from BFG where the saved game is for this particular game - in case anyone else is interested.

Also, I copied the saved game at the point where I have the rose poison - if anyone is interested I could send them a copy and tell them where the files are located.

Ana,

Here is the information as to where saved games on Windows 7 are kept for Mystery Trackers: Raincliff CE:

C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Elephant Games\Mystery Trackers - Raincliff CE

The two files are:

logfile.txt and prefsdb.dat

Awesome game. Have been playing off and on for several days and still going. Have to confess that I've skipped the majority of the mini-games - only because I can't wait to move forward and don't want to take the time to complete them. With the new Game Club Credits for CE games option in place, this would be a great one to try. Plenty of bang for your buck either way.

I really enjoyed playing this game and spent days on it. Since I played in Hard Mode there was no skipping/no hints. My only glitch in the whole game was the last puzzle in the bonus play. For some reason my BFG Manager never showed an update automatically or manually (and yes I had the newest version mgr). I uninstalled and reinstalled and all was good to continue and finish. Phew!!! I was fortunate. thumbsup

Something I didn't see mentioned on this topic is that you don't have to go to the Strategy Guide if you get stuck as to what to do next. Clicking on Hint pops up a window that tells you what to do. I used this about four times and really appreciated it.
