I never EVER thought I would say this, but I am getting tired of AG's...There is no Spark in these games lately....

Maybe I need a much needed break, but..Lately the games that are coming out..Just don't do it for me anymore... frown

The Developer's are always changing game play....

OH Well...I think I will take a Break from buying...Maybe things will get better in two years duh

Hi Darleen -- I've seen people posting similar sentiments before. Sometimes it's good to take a break and then return to the fold. grin

Dar,

If you don`t want to stop playing all together maybe trying the Dark Side will work for you. I play both and sometimes I get bored with certain type of games and switch to a different kind.

It happens even in real life: too much of the same thing even if it is very good may stop the enjoyment.

Yes... it happens. Too much of a good thing, huh?
Expecially when developing them LOL! - same game for 2 years of development - then times that by 4 games. I got to take a break... and work something else.

I got that way too and played casual games, Dark Side games which I love. now I am looking for a good AG to play because tired of the paranormal themes of IHOGs/HOGs.

I'm constantly changing the games I play, otherwise I get bored too. There haven't been that many lately that really excite me, so I guess that's one thing. I'm finding lately that I read the reviews of older games and go online to Amazon and other places and buy older ones.

This too shall pass! Sherlock is coming out soon, and Jonathan's new ones, so I'll be humming along happily again.

It happens to me too. I tend to go back and replay old favourites then, just to remind myself that there are good games out there. lol Playing one ho-hum new game after another in the hope that one might "click", only to find that none of them do, can be very tiring.

Testament of Sherlock Holmes will be a cracker. yes

Yes, I agree, sometimes I just take a break. Or maybe rotate games is a good way to look at it. Sometimes I play adventure, then I go to a casual adventure HOG, or a match-3, and I am starting to like the building type time management (not the Dash type ones). Sometimes I get out my old Great Moments Majongg or Pandora's Box. And then there is always reading which I do every night anyway. So nice to live in a time when there is so many options for our many moods! happydance

So many games, so little time....

I vary my game playing a LOT,Darleen03 smile

I re-play many oldies, switch between newer Adventures and RPGs and also throw in a few Casuals/HOGS to keep the mix mixed !! lol

I've also been disenchanted with AGs. It's been a few years coming for me. Then I realized that I pined for the older style games...the kind that back in the 90s seemed so magical. The latest great game I played was The Filmmaker. It was so reminiscent of the old style games that I just loved it. Alot of the newer games seem to be trying to hard to reinvent the wheel, at least IMO. So now I've gotten very selective and waited for the games that are in that same old style tradition. In the meantime I play casual games, IHOGs mostly, but those get old after awhile too. That's when I find a good book to read. smile

I child-proofed my home... but they're still getting in!

Darlene, I haven't played an adventure game for years, though I was once an avid fan. Have you played Morrowind or Oblivion? You might want to try a role playing game. Maybe Divine Divinity, the game that started so many adventure gamers down a different path. My first non-adventure game was Outcast and I loved it.

Darleen03~ That's been my sentiment lately, too... but I blame myself... changing, maybe?... or... just in the gaming doldrums for awhile.

JeanK~ you got it right... when there's something coming around the corner, it just gives you enough of a boost to sit tight... to 'hang in there'. And like you, those 'somethings' are Sherlock & Jonathan... AND that Halloween's coming. These things help. In the meantime, I'm scouting around for some fun downloads, like maybe "Back To The Future". catrub

I too felt the same way and then started to play some games on my sons' PS3.

In particular recently I played Portal 2. It is an addictive puzzle type game and should appeal to adventure gamers. Highly recommended for a change of style. smile

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
